For my individual situation I bought MW2 day one without putting any thought to it. I knew I was going to buy it. For blackops it's not the case. I've been burnt out by FPS games and especially if they don't really bring anything new to the table.

I doubt that Black Ops will sell as much as MW2 because there is more competition this time. Most developers decided not to compete against MW2 since they knew it was going to be a big seller. However, this year we already have Halo Reach released and MOH coming this month. Then, early next year, we will also have KZ3, BulletStorm, and Homefront. The competition for FPS games will be much more intense this time around and I don't see how Black Ops can match MW2. It may end up being the better game, but MW2 was a juggernaut.

I think it may sell as well as(or more than) mw2 but at the end of the day, a certain group of players gonna dislike black ops cause BO will have more fair and square gameplay desicions, so campers, commando knifers, akimbo warriors and cheaters will stick to mw2

Which is good! Who wants those people to ruin the game like that? I only ever play mw2 with my friend but we sometimes have to backout of multiple games till we actually get a fair match. Without those people there, we can actually enjoy the game.

mw2 is hella fun but it really frustrates me seeing stupid classed all over the place, the so called super soldier(marathon, lightweight, commando, ump)+ Ranger akimbo

Do you really think B.O will not have campers? The reason people camp is because it's pretty much the only way you're going to get kills unless you are a pro at the game. Watch youtube videos of the best players and they all just sit there, get a few kills and just let their killstreaks do the work. BFBC2 has more campers than CoD but it's still a much better game, and FAR more balanced, it requires skill and teamwork which you really don't need in MW2, and by the looks of things B.O is just another multiplayer game where everyone does their own thing not giving a shit about their team mates. It's not even like they reward teamwork like in BFBC2.

The problem has isn't with the people playing the game, it's the game that gives the options to those people, complaining about the guy who uses akimbo,lightweight and marathon is pointless, you should be pointing the finger at IW, they're the dumb-asses who put all that stuff in the game!

thats the thing though the rc is gonna hurt campers badly. and the no killstreak to killstreak is gonna make it harder too. I think your gonna see a lot of hardline,flac jacket or whatever its called.

I know kZ2 was an amazing graphical achievement but people will not buy killzone instead of COD B.O, the problem was only 3 million people worldwide bought killzone and out of that number Im sure the game was bundled with the console. The problem with killzone is that its way tooo clunky the maps are massive.
Dont get me wrong killzone2 is a great game but it needs refining, with move support added its not a 'hard core shooter'.
Call of duty will stick to its regular format, use the same COD engine and build around it.
I agree there may be a chance that Black ops may not sell as well as MW2 but I will buy Black ops because treyarch supported world at war very well.
Its down to the activision marketing now. Eventually the masses will flock to black ops once they realise it takes skill.
Killzone 3 may sell more than killzone 2 but im sure it will be overshadowed by black ops until the next call of duty.

this game lives up to the hype because waw and mw2 were dissapointing and they never bettered cod4 which is still the best cod in my opinion. This game is looking promising but i still feel the multiplayer is getting gimmicky with the remote control cars i was more than happy with uav airstrike then chopper. I think they over did the rewards abit and just asked for the trouble they got with glitchers.

Black Ops may look as a promising game with a wealth of added features and a number of fixes and adjustments over MW2. All of this may sound pretty good and very tempting. But I only need one reason not to buy it. And that reason is ..... Bobby Kotick.

It's the online , it looks Less noob friendly and welcomes skills, also it just looks like real fun, it reminds me of the costumization that MGO had ,like going to the store and purchasing gear with the points earned, to bad it had some really bad problems. But this game looks like a real blast and Treyarch is looking to redeam it's self by going all out or else it seams.

Well one thing, the cover art is cooler. (; Seriously, I think it's really going to be remembered.

I like that Trey is going for the gold on this one. I suspect probable disapointments in the single player (which isn't being talked about much) but the multi looks to be all CODs and then some rolled into one. Nice hold over til the PS3 shooter dominance of '11 (KZ3, R3, SC4)

I did not buy or even play MW2, but plan to buy to buy Black Ops because of the Combat Training Mode. Finally SP that is not linear or scripted. That is the only reason I am giving the COD franchise another chance.

However as far as sales I think it will sell far less then MW2. Just like Halo 3 was the high point in sales for Halo franchise so will MW2 be for the COD franchise. Both Halo and the COD franchises will both now be on the their way down in terms of sales.
