Leading Irish gaming website www.bone-idle.ie writes "The game has been very much stripped back, even the new fancy “Rock” styled guitar controller has had the strip removed from the neck leaving only the standard five buttons like the GH3 guitar controller had. The studio and all the frills that I never really used anyway have been dropped. So what you’re left with is a breath of fresh air really. Without any clutter it’s just a good solid rock experience that you can pick up bang out a few tunes when you feel the need to rock out and put down again."
"Going back a few console generations, gaming experienced a surge of rhythm-based games. From shredding out in Guitar Hero to hitting the floor in Dance Central, game started crossing the line between general, real world practices and digital entertainment. Like most other genres, rhythm games became saturated and dipped off in popularity." --PlayStation Enthusiast
