Dead Space 2 - 90 minutes Multiplayer Beta Gameplay

90 minutes Dead Space 2 multiplayer beta gameplay

SilentNegotiator5374d ago

The Beta is okay. It's not very balanced at this point, though...the necromorphs have a CLEAR advantage, sniping barely spawned human opponents with the one type of enemy, running circles around them, a million spawn points....it needs work. Out of the 10-ish games I have played in, I've seen the humans win once.

Nitrowolf25374d ago

what?
usually most game i have played its human then necro that win
although i do somewhat agree that it is a bit unbalance for spawning, Necro can spawn right away once they die, human have to wait 5 second, but i think the health to kill a necro makes up for that.

Red_Orange_Juice5374d ago

that's exactly how humans shouls feel like, outnumbered and cornered

visualb5374d ago

good, that makes it a lot more "deadspace" like.

remember, the humans are meant to be out numbered and struggling.

it looks great, surely will add a new dynamic to deadspace without taking away from the core experience

Brklynty15374d ago

Humans CLEARLY outmatch the necros, they need to make them stronger to be on par, even make a class that can idk hold a gun i guess

Imperator5374d ago

I really like the beta. IMO, both sides have their pros and cons and it's the players' skills that decided who wins the match. Sure, the Necros spawn faster and in more numerous places, but the humans have stronger weapons and more health. If the humans stick together like a team should, there should be no problem.

It's not a game where going lone wolf is advised.

Socrates5374d ago

In these videos it looked like the humans wrecked the Necromorphs pretty easily. I think it depends on the skill of the individual players involved.

rezzah5374d ago

The game is balanced, you just suck at killing the necro OR your teammates suck. I laugh when i easily spot a dumb team from the get go because I know we can win IF we work as a team. But when I see the Humans playing smart right of the bat I know that we are going to likely lose.

In the end its about how you play and how good the team work is altogether.

Looks really lame.

Dead Space 2 does not need multiplayer!!

ATi_Elite5374d ago

With the ten trillion FPS being released in the next few months, I don't understand why EA would even bother wasting time making a multi player for a game that is all about the single player experience.

Not every freakin game needs a multi-player.

redDevil875374d ago

then don't play it. They aren't going to sacrifice the SP for MP.

I don't get why people get so angry about an option in a game when you don't have to use if you don't want to.

KiRBY30005374d ago

the people workin on the multiplayer part of the game could be workin on more content for the solo experience (which is the core experience of a dead space game). this could result in more areas to visit, a more polished game or even a longer campaign.

the ultimate joke is if they release bits of solo campaign as DLC after release. did you think about that too?

allocating a team to work on MP automatically sacrifice the work they could have done on SP.

Socrates5374d ago

That's what people said about multiplayer in Uncharted 2, and that turned out to be one of my favorite multiplayer games on PS3.

I agree that not every game needs multiplayer. But if the developers have a vision for multiplayer that works for their game then gamers can only benefit.

vickers5005372d ago

I'd rather have multiplayer than 1-2 hours of extra sp gameplay that I'm only going to play once.

wicko5374d ago

Hmm, I don't know, could it be that the Devs actually wanted to implement an MP mode? If you don't like the MP, don't play it. Just don't assume everyone agrees with you.

redDevil875374d ago

Necromorphs look fuckin freaky!

trevonn955374d ago

my names TwistyTrev on psn hit me up on the beta

Wolfie5374d ago

i like the beta but humans are overpowered

rezzah5374d ago

The arnt, its just when they atart playing smart then the Necros are less likely to survive. Only when they play smart.

EA Shoots Down Dead Space 2 Remake Rumors: 'No Validity to This Story'

EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.

XiNatsuDragnel435d ago

Sure.... right.... at least remake dead space 3 w/o microtransactions bs.

XiNatsuDragnel434d ago

I sometimes I wished I didn't Ngl lol

Knightofelemia435d ago

Why not remake DS2 whether shot down or not it's still my favorite game next to DS1. As much as I hate EA I would buy or would have bought DS2 day one.

MeteorPanda435d ago

No validity XD "Guys guys, we cant possible make a good game or cater to the gamers wants, stop"

Yi-Long435d ago

I don't know if sales met their expectations or not. I just know that the high review scores received my attention so I was interested in buying it, but its price stayed high (50+ bucks) for so long that I simply never bothered picking it up.

Tacoboto435d ago

Doesn't pay full price
Doesn't pay *any* price
Ponders if sales met expectations regarding an allegedly canceled sequel.

Gee...

Yi-Long434d ago

Well, for starters, I'm sure there are plenty of games I never bought which did, somehow, still, meet their sales-expectations.

Concerning Dead Space; I never played and thus cared for the original. It's in multiple genres (shooter, sci-fi, horror) I don't particularly care about so it was barely on my radar pre-launch. I was never its target-audience.

When reviews hit, and it was scoring big, it gathered my interest, so while it wasn't in my field of interest, it mrans that I wanted to give it a fair shot and at least give it a try, as I do with many games across different genres; I tend to just cherry-pick the good stuff and see if it's for me or not.

But, I do wait for sales on those games I take a risk on.

Kornholic434d ago (Edited 434d ago )

Lol, you are a huge part of the problem. If a very high-quality game is not even worth 50 bucks to you, then what is?

13 Years Later, Dead Space 2 Is Still A Perfect Video Game

Nameer from eXputer: "Dead Space 2 is a sequel that delivers such a feast that by the time you're done, you're not only full but also satisfied."

Aaroncls7455d ago

It was amazing. All 3 DS games game solid for me, but 2 was special.

hombreacabado455d ago

i can do without ds3 but the first two are solid.

mariopasta455d ago

Hope they remake this one too. Just like they did with number 1. The remake of Dead Space 1 was perfection

Terry_B455d ago

thanks to the digital pass for it it was not perfect..in fact its difficult to find a working copy since many years.

I had no idea that Bad Company 2 was still running, and only now that I know, I want to jump on! 😥

SonyStyled557d ago

I was able to find games in the Vietnam dlc on ps3 the last week. There were articles on here about the server closure when it was announced in April

DaReapa558d ago

BF1943 is the only online MP game that I was genuinely interested in. Been playing since launch 14 years ago. Hate that I couldn't put in as much time to play as I'd hoped for during the final week.

Inverno557d ago

I got really into 43 when I bought Bf3, and preferred it. Everything that I disliked or found annoying about Bf3, wasn't an issue in 43. Too bad they never bothered releasing it on PS4 or PC.

1nsomniac557d ago (Edited 557d ago )

Dead Space 2...... I wasn't even aware that had multiplayer. Nevermind that it was apparently one of their best multiplayers!

anast557d ago

Once people stop buying micros, these companies close the doors.

Xenial557d ago

Dead Space 2 multiplayer had been hanging on for years - I'd boot my PS3 up to see some familiar names in lobbies. This will definitely be missed!
