well was it really fair to put the ps3 on a 72 inch hd screen and the wii on a 32 inch? The wii portion of the video much shorter than the ps3 portion as well. it's also sad that ps3 is now being compared to wii. I'll keep my ps3 w/o move and motion controls and stuff. I just HAD to comment about Char-thing's game list for Wii.

All of those game listed are, interestingly enough, not games for which motion controls are necessary. Rather they're games where motion controls are simply shoe horned in for lack of buttons.

You could in fact conclude that all those games would be much better if the Wii only had a proper controller (ideally one better than the Wavebird too).

Oh an a few of those are in fact Gamecube titles ;)

Other than that, well yeah Wii has some good games (as discussed none of which need motion so they could have been done on the Gamecube or GC2 if you must) but the PS3 has the superior line up if only due to quantity & quality rather than Wii which has a lot of Quantity but very little quality.

@Skull, Jam on PS3 is a watered down port. You get the Demo, Wii owners get the full game.

I can come up with plenty of reasons why each of those PS3 games sucks. Oh and speaking of MGS4, funny how all those great games that came out years after MGS failed to reach what it got in sales when the PS3 has a much bigger install base. That alone says a lot about the quality of the other games you bring up.

Yeah, to me Wii has been the victim of a lot of lazy devs which has meant I use mine least of all my gaming platforms. To be honest, outside of Nintendos own games the best ones have usually been last gen titles with added motion controls while a ton of games just had them tacked on without thought "because it was there". I love NMH but the fact is losing the motion controls won't hurt it as they were never central to gameplay in any real sense and that goes deeper than just a few decent titles.

I wouldn't want to be without the white box as there have been some great games on it(though the recent death of Metroid as my favourite ever franchise hurt a bit-what were the idiots at TN thnking? And do not let me start on the acting and controls)but I'd be lying if I said I used it as much as my other platforms cos I really don't.

Most of those games on that list suck, in my opinion. However, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, Infamous, Sly Cooper, and God Of War are all awesome games. But then again so are Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Metroid, MadWorld, Zelda, Sin and Punishment, ect. Each systems has there own gems. The only reason Wii gets bashed is because of graphical capabilities, an excess of shovelware, and the fact that EVERYONE has one. I love all consoles, but X-Box 360. The only reason I hate the X-Box is because the corporation that owns it are money hungry whores. (More so than Sony and Nintendo anyway.) I also hate them because when I got my 360 is RRoD'd all over my face Christmas day. Nothing that is new should break.

I have talked to developers in the LA area (EA, THQ) and they say there are some serious hurdles to overcome because of the lack of accuracy and horrible latency. They were saying that the experiences on Kinect were not going to be anywhere near the 2009 target renders. In fact they said most games will just seem like more accurate renditions of Eyetoy games and mostly on rail experiences.

Nintendo are getting ready to abandon the Wii, just like they did the GC. Their internal dev teams are flat out trying to pump out tired ports for the 3DS, and scrape together a lineup for the launch of the Wii 2.

I would not be the least bit surprised if your key upcoming Zelda game ends up dragged kicking and screaming onto the Wii 2, just like what happened with Twilight Princess. Remember?

Kinect more accurate? I've yet to see a video of the kinect work right so far I just see it as a new way to navigate the dashboard all there are no hardcore games for it. Sony have shown hardcore games using the move. Socom, killzone 3, RE5, MAG and more. You want games go for wii? Are you serious? For each great game there are 10 horrible shovelware crap aimed at casuals.

I heard in RE4 the crosshair is onscreen even when you are not aiming. Which is awesome!

One thing I like with the move, is that you don't actually need to aim at the screen. The most comfortable way i find is sitiing down, with the move's line of sight being slightly above the tv. you can play with the move pointing any direction. the cursor centers each time you enter aiming mode.

Move is deadly accurate when playing RE5 so Capcom did a bang up job configuring Move for RE5 Gold Edition. Someone I was playing with accused me of cheating somehow in single player because I was targeting mobs to fast.

WiiMotionPlus and the Move... The Move is much better IMO. Well, screw the opinion, it is simple fact by trial and observation. Just playing Tumble on the Move wipes the floor with anything I've played on the Wii as far as accuracy and movement tracking is concerned. People will hate this comment, but it is the truth.

When my bro got a Wii, (and i'll say it now, when it first came out i kinda looked down on it for being different) i bought resi4 again for the Wii, just to check it out and to see if it had all the PS2 additional content.

I just didnt 'get it'. It felt wrong. Odd to controll. But i reckon that was just because i was so used to the cube controller. I'd already played it too much. Don't bash me. Innovation is innovation; it's just hard to get a grip on for some people.

I gave it to a buddy in the end and went back to the cube. Hindsight hurts a bit. I should've stuck with it. And folks...

The Wii is an awesome console.

When it comes to motion controll, all i want (in my mind's eye) is a new Black and White game that uses motion controlls. Think about it! It's like a perfect match. Using your hand to controll the god-hand. You ARE the god-hand.
The thing is, i can only see such a thing happeing (technically) on the Move. I don't know whether Kinnect kan kwite kut it.

The Wii-mote is "the faster motion device", so speed might be a factor to certain gamers, whereas accuracy might mean something to others(pS3 gamers).

The Wii-mote can be used as an Nes controller, so that gives it even more value! It also has a speaker which makes it useful for different aspects of gaming.

The video ends before he gets to even talk about re4 wii. Additionally, no you do not have to sit that close to the tv to play that game. I play comfortably at about 4-6 feet away from my tv. With no jitter. But yeah, re4 was way better and it's absolutely not worth paying over 120 bucks in peripherals, rebuying a game if you don't have gold edition and then sitting through what is likely over and hour of updates just to get the same control scheme. which is accomplished on a 15-25 dollar wii game with absolutely no add-ons or updates.

I'm curious, can you shake the "nav" to swing your knife in re5? Oh wait, NO because the nav doesn't have motion sensing., does it at least include the ability to shake the psiimote to reload?

I dunno, this is just a prime example of why move is no threat to wii.

hmmmm....didn't know about the no shake stuff. i thought that was in.

yeah, most stuffs for the wii seems useless. wiispeak has bad quality, motion+ is rarely used, and so are the other things too. the wii, for some reason makes devs lazy too, by using the wii's motion controls for a quick cash in. to say the wii has bad games though is wrong. it has some great games, even some 3rd party games. TvC, MADWORLD, nmh 1 (wii) is the better version, RE4 (wii) is the better version, little king's story, nmh2, the better version of the grinder, epic mickey is also shaping up nicely too. so the wii does have some nice exclusive games or the best ports. the wii seems to have a bigger category of games too, action, puzzle, adventure, ect.

the wii is good,but it has its faults. i like it way more than the 360.

Funny how they are comparing Wiimote with Move because wiimote has done the hard work now and only 1-2 years away from an upgrade ie Wii2 but for games like FPS/ARCADE SHOOTERS Wiimote is faster than Move and fast means games can be more difficult Sin Punishment 2 Amazing,RE4 Amazing,Dead Space Extraction Amazing,Darkside Chronicles Amazing,Silent Hill Amazing,MP3 Amazing,TW11 Amazing,Controls on Move are not even close when using IR/POINTER lag is present in Move and 30fps downgraded versions of AAA ps3 games isnt the best Wiimote 60/70 fps bigger bounding box than Move and no silly light either,Oh sports champions has had worse reviews than 2006 WiiSports and Resort bested that game in everyway end of Wii has proven success lets see if tons of rehashed old games with Move implemented at 30fps can make it a success i think not.

when resident evil 4 first came out on wii (and the years after) ps3 owners refused to acknowledge the controls were superior. even saying they were inferior.

now fast forward to the present, where ps3 owners can now enjoy the superior control method, all of a sudden they can see the light and recognise this is the way to play resident evil.

The only losers here are the ones that fight over which system is better and either refuse to buy all three systems or can't afford them.

i have 2 out of 3 ? :) PS3 and a Wii which i both love,and both use every day don't think i can afford another console tho it is hard enough to buy games for 2 systems.but i agree having all three systems would be ideal and i wish more people had all three for the the only reason,that they would become less of a fanboy and more of a gamer.

i didn't know wii had fanboys (well not ones that were old enough to type yet) it's really sweet. The wii has Penguin club I think , sounds cute.. awww i'm lactating.
