Gaming Age writes: "Space Invaders Infinity Gene takes the classic Taito franchise in a pretty bold new direction, putting it up against the modern shoot 'em up more so than anything that resembles the arcade classic. At first I wasn't sure how I'd feel about that change, after all the handheld reimagining's that had been produced by Taito in the last couple years on PSP and DS didn't really throw away the core left and right shooting movements, but after spending a little bit of time with Infinity Gene, I think it's a really nice change to have".
