In the end, Cladun: This is an RPG is a game which is far more complex than it initially appears, but this complexity doesn’t always add up to a better game. There is a strong disconnect between the complexity of the sub-systems and the simplicity of the actual combat system, between the nostalgic visual style and the modern soundtrack — heck, between the music and the sound effects. This lack of cohesion is a serious problem for the game, because it makes it difficult if not impossible to pinpoint Cladun’s actual aim.

Some good PSP nostalgia. People might not realize that it was the starting point for some pretty cool series.
For those of us who grew up in the Super Nintendo and Sega genesis era, we have a soft spot for old school games, the ones that remind us of our childhood and give us that old timey feel. Sometimes those games are still great and fun to this day, others usually are not. Cladun X2 is a game that gives us that old game feel while making us feel like it’s something new. It’s a refreshing take on top down RPG’s that shouldn’t be over looked.
