Layton Shumway: To me, the word "multiplayer" still means getting a group of people together on the couch to talk trash and have a good time. But these days we often swap the couch for a headset. And in my opinion, that's a shame.

Maybe it is time to just let Goldeneye go. People keep e-begging for this game and it came back in various iterations; remastered and original and in the end it was just meh. The game was a product of its time like Perfect Dark and Timesplitters.

I agree with this author completely. Obviously this guy has friends, and knows what its like to be a social gamer. I am a hardcore social gamers. And although I love Xbox Live and PSN, nothing is better than playing with friends. Even if you have to make sacrifices like playing 4 player split screen, its still worth it. There's just something about being with live people that makes gaming a lot more fun.
Me and two friends playing a 100 man brawl on SSBB = pure bliss.
It's sad but pretty much the only games I want to play locally anymore are sports games.
