IGN: Monkeying Around in Donkey Kong Country Returns

Retro Studios made headlines at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo when Nintendo prez Reggie Fils-Aime took the wraps off the studios long-secret Wii game project at the publisher's press conference. The studio is best known for its work updating the Metroid Prime series from a classic side-scrolling adventure to an incredible first-person action game, and after three games in that series it was time to move onto something different. That project, Donkey Kong Country Returns, is a bit of shift for Retro: Metroid Prime was a drastic change in direction for the franchise, but Donkey Kong Country Returns keeps a close link to the formula laid out by Rare on the Super NES in the three game series.
