8.5 Playstation Move Controller Review

Brutal Gamer writes - 'It seemed like such a stupid move on the part of Sony – releasing a technology and experience now that has been in use since the Wii launched back in November 2006. Why on earth would someone pay yet again for something that a lot of households already have in a cupboard gathering dust? Well friends come with me on a lexical journey in to the already known and see.'

lol last night I was playing Gladiator on Sports Champions and I kept flicking my wrist to swipe my sword thinking it was the wii. Haha the sword would only flick and it wouldn't swipe across the screen until I realized that flicking my wrist wouldn't work. 1:1 my friends

@disagree, it is true so you can't deny it. Try both for yourself before randomly clicking that you disagree.

But you need to swing with speed and power...and the game will give you more damage. I love using 2 moves for this game...fighting stance, knees slightly bent block an attack with the shield...give em a shield bash...parry over to one side or the other and swing the sword where you opponent is vulnerable.

After a few plays I really started to get the hang of it and there was no waggling or flailing at all. You can even angle your shield to fend off attacks at different angles.

Once you go Move you stop playing with you Wii.

Yes...someone email Sony and ask for an online patch.

Tiger woods shows how sensitive Move is as well (there is a center line that is used and ESPECIALLY for putting you have to not only have the correct speed for the putt...but you must also keep level, keep the putter angle perfect...and follow THRU on the ball, if you swing thru too much it will go further even if you did the correct power...if you do not swing thru enough...the ball hardly moves. At first I was getting 4 or 5 I am getting birdies.

So does the table tennis, bocce ball, I love being able to put all different speeds and spins on the bocce balls...frisbe golf...and this is just the beginning folks.

Move will sell more and more as the months roll on and ANYONE who does not bend over for Nintendo or MS will want Move over the other 2. I have friends coming over everyday saying I hear you have Move I want to check it out, and all of them leave to go buy Move or WILL buy a PS3 Move bundle.

i agree and it would be amazing if they could make it online, i would love table tennis tournaments online and gladiator duals with people all over the world.

I agree. Everything you stated is fact. I can't believe how accurate it really is. You don't see to many people saying the same about Kinect.

@LF91 That would make the game so much better than it already is. I would love that

Yet that is Wii Sports you are referring too. There are motion games on Wii that are awesome and have no "wrist flicking" or "waggle". I will never understand the argument between a sports champions and a wii sports that both score the same in reviews. Fighting over games in the 7 average range is pathetic. Also, Sports Resort is pretty decent and outscored sports champions too.

Also sports champions does NOT have bowling or regular tennis.

doG_beLIEfs2977d ago (Edited 2977d ago )

Don't worry your purty little head eagle....REAL games for Move are the meantime I will enjoy the motion control that the Wii WISHED it had.

What do they use for ALL motion capture, movies, games anything?

Oh thats right...glowing balls and a high speed camera...guess what Move uses?

Glowing balls, high speed camera 60fps to 120 fps, AND a motion controller packed with technology.

eagle212977d ago (Edited 2977d ago )

IGN called champions generic. And buddy, if you think I play sports resort you are a joke. I won't be playing champions either anytime soon. Real games FTW.

Also the fact you said PLEASE let's me know you only want to hear one side of opinion. I'm not asking anyone to shut up, I enjoy people's opinions, but the ones with truth. No motion controller has scored a 10 in hardware reviews. But the games are a whole different deal. Talented developers have made games on Wii that scored 10 with motion controls. Some people agree with me that games like a Killzone or Team ICO are the games they would buy Move for. So no, you shut up.

eagle212977d ago (Edited 2977d ago )

And to prove I'm damn right the same exact site just said what I just said. LMAO

Eat some humble pie. It's about the games, not just the controller tech. My post was about the games out now. :)

nycredude2977d ago

So you don't play wii sports and you don't ever plan on playing Sports Champions cause you think you are a real gamer. Then GTFO here. Why are you here arguing when you have no experience and don't plan to experience it. Freaking debbie downers you people are worst than fanboys here.

I concur with this review.

Qui-Gon Jim2977d ago

Try the Tumble demo. It will show you just how precise Move is.

BYE2977d ago

Agree, I rarely was sold on a game so fast after trying the demo.

Qui-Gon Jim2977d ago

I wasn't sold on the game itself, but it is an awesome demo for Move and i will keep the Tumble demo for awhile to show people how well Move works.

doG_beLIEfs2977d ago

Being able to not only reach into the game arena...but how steady you have to have your hand when placing blocks higher and higher...just amazing how accurate, precise, and sensitive the Move is.

Sony has a winner on its hands...and so far at my house anyone who has tried it has been floored by it. My one friend who "wanted" a Wii now wants a PS3. She still wants a Wii but only for her 4 year old daughter.

I don't like the idea of having the review based on games when they are reviewing the hardware. I know the games are what makes or breaks the hardware, but in this case they are reviewing the controller.

moosehound2977d ago

In my review I;m going purely on my experience with the controller. I barely mention software at all other that to pick up a few points of error. I even state that it was most likely my PS Eye that was poorly adjusted.

It is a shame but software does tend to define the hardware. Look at early PS3 games. We all nkew the hardware was super powerful but people were churning out sub-standard ports of year old Xbox 360 games on it. So the system coped a bad rep. Later on in the life cycle the software is now re-defining the PS3's rep.

The Move is a nice chunk of technology. It's the next logical step on from the WiiMote with WiiMotion Plus.

pinksteak092977d ago

the way you do certain things in life that's exactly how you'll do it with MOVE!

off topic: i was playing archery and noticed if you turn the MOVE sideways, the bow turns sideways! pretty damn cool if you ask me!

doG_beLIEfs2977d ago

My friend who played it yesterday she found out about that and starting shooting the bow gangster She could not believe it angled the bow just how she likes it.

2 Moves make archery so much more fun....same with gladiator.

pinksteak092977d ago

hopefully i can get a second MOVE this weekend
