Overall Uncharted 2 looks better, but there are times where God of War stands above everything else.

The Chronos battle, The Poseidon battle, Hades battle, pretty much most of the boss fights take the graphics to another level.

Yeah kick Flower out and pitch in Heavenly Sword imo. The last boss battle in that game was so ill and crazy. Never will forget it. Not to mention Nuriko as a character and what happens to her in the story.

I understand what they were trying to do but you have to kick out Flower and put in Heavy Rain.

First off, the Kratos model itself is INSANE. Not to mention what MLAA can actually do to your game.

Remember when GT showcased GOWIII on Gaia. There was almost no hater/360 fanboy on that thread alone. Speaks leagues about the graphics. Tell me none of you were impressed when Gaia pulled her arm off in pain.

Unlike most people, I actually started off in Hard mode. There was a scene that I had to deal with the minotaurs, medusa's and other minions. The motion blur and reaction made me almost believe that was a CG fight scene in itself. Uncharted 2, great, beautiful and AMAZING as it is, did not give me the same impression.

Oh, and the devs said GOWIII uses about 50% of the cell not to mention the introduction of the famous MLAA which should be standard in all PS3 games in the future. Just look what happens when that tech is used in inFamous 2 or Killzone 3.

its not only newer, if you REALLY play it in HD and look closely, there are NO JAGGIES, and the textures are mind bogglingly perfect

its almost uncanny

the ONLY thing i'd say that makes it look like a videogame and not real life are some of the OTHER character models, when next to Kratos there's a clear difference in quality

that aside, almost every single pixel in that game is perfect. its rather daunting. and if people will say "buuuh the camera is fixeD"

well, that was a DESIGN decision to give it a stronger narrative effect. you could technically move the camera around, but how much of a nightmare would that be climbing around Crono's body with the camera flying around everwhere

it'd detract from the gameplay, pure and simple.

that said, I also agree with flower. and MGS4 is impressive still considering its almost 3 years old! =O

GOW3 was already mindboggling as it was, but some MJ really heightened the whole epicness of the game. i literally almost shitted myself once i realized what GOW3 was all about when i shredded Poseidon.

wait, whut? Uncharted 2 is one of the most heavily scripted games ive ever played. even jumping from one ledge to another is 'scripted' as its simply if youre in the right spot on the edge and press jump in that direction it will ALWAYS make the jump and it will always do it in the exact same fashion. then theres all the scripted set pieces that will always play out the same way.

yes god of war 3 is heavily scripted too, but at least the platforming elements arent scripted like they are in uncharted 2.

God of War 3 is the best looking exclusive on the PS3 IMO. the Kratos character model alone wins it that title.

I think UC2 was more visually impressive overall, and it was more consistent with the graphics too. But the Hades battle in God of War 3 remains the most visually impressive moment of my gaming life.

there are some moments in GOW3 where you can control the camera actually. it's nothing much, but when you come across a piece of readable information, the camera usually allows you look at the environment around you.

I agree with god of war. UC2 looks amazing in motion the majority of the time but at it's top moments GOW3 looked like moving art. The main problem was that the setting was left on mount olympus the majority of the time because of GOW2 and because of that most of the places where caves or other mountainous area's and it's just not as free to work with.

I know some 360 fanboys are in denial. It's hard to accept that there are games that are starting to outdo even Uncharted 2 when you can't even begin to touch that in the first place.

Flower is pretty impressive but in my opinion shouldn't be in a graphics competition. It's just a little too simple to me to be entered in this catagory. Ya heavenly Sword would of been a much better pick.

Heavy rain looked decent MGS4 sub-hd or not takes a dump on it, there's so much more detail in that game and alot more going on. Lauren looked horrible imo she was poorly modeled.

@Roozium the characters were the only thing that I thought looked really good in gow 3 that was an insane amount of detail when upclose.

Alan Wake is the only that really qualifies and even then it only qualifies because its PC version was canceled.

Guys, play on Bravia TV. GoW has MLAA = 16xAA, hi-res textures, impressive and clear-cut bump, ssao, best lighting effects, stable 35-60 fps etc. And skin texture of Kratos is 2 mpx. His model is most beautiful of all gamedev time & GoW3 is most beautiful game of all time too.

I agree with what you're trying to say, but you're making stuff up.

Gow3 does NOT have MLAA, no PS3 game does. it uses a CUSTOM anti-aliasing solution that can give virtually the same effect as MLAA. It's NOT MLAA though, it just gives a similar result, though not quite as good.

also, how do you have a "stable" variable framerate? The word variable is the complete opposite of stable in terms of framerates lol. Gow3s framerate is as far from stable as you can possibly get, since it's designed specifically NOT to be stable.

And it looks incredible, but crysis on pc is still the most beautiful game to date.

GOW III is the best looking console game this gen...PS3 or otherwise.

Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 look phenomonal but they have nothing on GOW III. I would know...I own all three.

Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 do specific things very well while GOW III does those things better than Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 and runs at a smoother frame rate to boot.

Killzone 2 excels in lighting effects and particle effects while Uncharted 2 excels in textures. GOW III excels in all areas, has greater scale, and runs at higher framerate than Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2....not to mention 2k resolution textures and MLAA.

As you can see from what I listed it is not debatable...sorry Uncharted fanboys.

And yes Flower should be replaced by Heavy Rain because is is a phenomenal looking game.

Heavenly Sword was a pretty damn good looking game. The game play was nowhere near GOW III level. Strictly speaking on graphics though I would put it in the top 10.
