New Capcom slasher is God Of War of the east

Capcom's press event tonight contained a pleasant surprise: an all-new title from the Japanese developer, going by the name of Asura's Wrath.

What game involving an angry person who beats things up doesn't eventually get compared to GoW nowadays? Just wait until release when articles stating "[Game name] to dethrone God of War?". Some of the most annoying crap out there.

Personally, it's its own game until it proves otherwise in my book. Wasn't too thrilled with the video they showed since it didn't really detail any storyline or gameplay elements, just a jumble of actions that you don't know how they relate to the game or how you will play them out other than some QTEs that didn't need to be there in the first place.

And asuras are pretty much being like kratos originally , demi gods .

Don't see the point in comparing that they're both based on mythology. All stories are based on their own mythos in one way or another. That doesn't make them any more similar than their gameplay elements. Especially considering some of the stark differences in the two mythologies. Perhaps if this was an Egyptian or Norse hack and slash game based around similar 'ascended but not divine' beings, I'd see the reason. But not with the mythology of choice, in which you can't even tell what one's goal in the game may be.

I'm smelling an inFAMOUS 2 like change and we'll see Dante back with his gray hair (maybe shorter). Heck if fans of inFAMOUS can change Cole back to how he used to look, fans of DMC could do the same.

I don't like the new look of Dante...at all. Now he's more Emo looking than he was before.
