Anime fighting games are a bittersweet thing, on the one hand if you’re a fan of anime, you get to play a game starring favorite characters using lightning-destructive combos and all of those other corny commercial cliches. On the other hand, these games can ruin your favorite anime forever, and we all know things are worse if you aren’t a big fan of anime. no offense but anime fighting games usually suck.

Baka-akaB5336d ago

nah they just can't be really considered as fighting games . it's not a surprise quite a few of then are more like smb/powerstone ...

for starters there will never be one with a good balance .. half of the interest shoulders upon respecting a minimum the serie .

Wich makes the big heroes and villains overpowered by default . And then you have the overpowered oddball , the one whose mechanics is so wonky that it slipped through QC , or is buggy .

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 is the best 1 i ever played

YEP!!! Dimps really put their backs into that one! Good times

I agree, I went out an bought it just to play it again. Budokai 3 was by far the best anime fighting game.

I liked the RPG system where you could give points to your character and increase the power of their physical attack, defense, energy attack, ki consumption, HP, and whatever else there was.

Budokai 3 was the BEST. Only thing missing was a larger cast (had some DBZ GT people in it, but not enough), Online (with the RPG elements it begged for online), and create a character (I fell all anime games need create a character, just let us pick pre-existing fighting styles, attacks, and a few customization options and we'll be happy).

Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
