Anyone else find that the Legendary difficulty is the most fun to play? I'm only a middling FPS player, but in the likes of GoldenEye I can't say I found playing on 00 Agent to be the most fun experience!

I think the shield recharging is one of the biggest gameplay innovations in Halo. Dual-wielding not so much- I don't understand why people seem to think it originated there!

To my knowledge, Marathon first introduced dual-wielding, but I think Halo was one of the first series to dual-wield two different weapons. Dual-wielding hasn't been implemented successively in games. It was little more than increasing the rate of fire of the weapon when you had two of the same type; at least in Halo, although the selection was limited, you could have a different weapon in each hand. The point of dual-wielding is that you can control space in two directions, and I don't think any developer has effectively implemented that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Halo does very little that's new or innovative, but but what it does do is get FPS mechanics damn near spot on.

Halo definately has FPS going on now, but it didn't when it first came out. Clunky mess! They've streamlined it a lot though. I think the Legendary difficulty becomes fun for this reason, turning Halo into a kind of realistic combat sim rather than a space blaster.

The announcer was canonized as being an AI character in universe. No offence to Jeff Steitzer, but his voice might be a bit too over the top for Master Chief.
