I'd assume it means they react to wherever on the body you shoot them and die in a way that reflects where you shot them. Like, if you shot one in the leg, and blasted his torso, he'd stumble backwards and collapse from the leg wound. However, this is just a guess, feel free to add to it.

I think it means they react to where they are hit. For example if they are shot in chest they might hold the wound when they die. The stomach the neck etc. I think thats what it means or atleast thats what i get from it.

Many people say they don't like its greys and such but for me, it was the most beautiful and stunning game I'd seen in years. Last time I really dig a games graphics this much was when Final Fantasy X was shown for PS2 years ago.

I think it's safe to say that Killzone 2 is going to be the poster-child for Sony's system. Already, every time someone blurts out "____ console is superior", the rebuttal is an in-game screenshot of Killzone. Sony poured $40 million into the technology for KZ2 (and rising) so rest assured that they will put a demo of the game in every Kiosk across the globe.

Halo 3 Demo playing right next to a Killzone 2 demo...it's obvious what people will be saying at Gamestops and Circuit Cities.

@below : so you telling me that the story of killzone is amazing ?we do not know anything about killzone apart from the graphic which is one of the most impressive i have ever seen.we so only one gun and one type of grande.the A.I do not take cover, just run and shoot and speaking about the end of the level that was honestly bad really bad...ect....but back in 2006 we had the same reaction toward the graphic of gears and it implment the cover system like no other game did so it did with the co-op .the A.I was smart enough to make the game fun.the environment is also stuning not only plan dark environment.bare in mind all of that in 2006.now gears is proven franchise while KZ has to prove it self all over again since the first one came with graphic better than halo2 and failed to impress in any other aspect and it got bad reviews. so if GEARS2 come around the same TIME KZ2 comes out we know the outcome.

i played gears start to finish on single and co-op. i was disappointed with the lack of a storyline.(evil aliens coming out of ground-this gets old)also, the gameplay was too linear. and enemies tended to come out in bunches at certain spawn points. also, weapons were disappointing as well as the weak, cheesy end fight. graphically speaking, KZ2 has left me stunned. MGS4 does this too. GOW was good but it didn't leave the impression on me these other 2 games left. and i didn't respond to be a fanboy, you asked for the response-so i answered the best way i could.

A march release for KZ2 is too early.

Even though we have only seen a snippet of gameplay, I'm beginning to suspect that GG maybe sticking to the repetitive linear gameplay. Now, that would be okay if you had the options of using vehicles as in Halo to achieve an objective in a level. But what GG really need to do is move the game in the Sandbox direction like Driver or Mercenaries. Damn, it would have been nice to been able to look over the side of the landing craft and take pot shots just before landing like in the e3 2005 target trailer.

And although it's only in alpha there's alot of work to be done on the graphics and animation. The rocket and flaming vehicle trails and explosions were crap. I've seen better on Mercenaries 2. I was so impressed effects on the e3 2005 target trailer. They can't have been all that difficult to achieve.

I hope I'm completely wrong. But there's so much that needs to be done. KZ2 will undoubtedly be better than KZ1 but I'd like to see the franchise achieve AAA status. Take the necessary time. Learn from games like Resistance, Warhawk, GRAW, CoD4, Haze, UT, Halo, Gears of War. Get everything right then release KZ2 late 2008. It should have the shooter market to itself around the Xmas break.

i can respect your opinion, but i believe you are waaaaaaaaaay off base. the graphics are already looking stunning. and no offense. and , too linear? you ought to take a long look at gears of war-thats linear gameplay. plus,between cut scenes and gameplay in gears was a big drop in graphical quality. halo 1,2 or 3? i'm still waiting for bungie to get it right. they are the last dev. i would want GG to pay attention to. now, if you would have said hideo kojima, i would have agreed. go ahead and worry about KZ2, i think it's going to be spectacular

I`ll have to agree with that. The flame-effects needs work, it just looks weird with the rest of the environment.

The linear level stuff is a bit worrying too, because the main problem i had with Killzone 1 was it`s lack of depth in the gameplay. It still could be okey though, as long as they have more variation in the game, it can be linear.

If they could have a good multiplayer and a stabile fps this time around, that would be great. I don`t see them accomplishing all these goals by early 2008, so i think this will be winter 2008 most likely. I hope they just won`t release the game before it`s ready.

With all that said Guerilla games came a lot close to the E3 2005 trailer than i expected, so i guess they can surprise me again ;)

Sandbox direction in my opinion would ruin what the series is already about. Gritty warfare. Not running around without objectives or multiple objectives.

Rent the first game and/or Killzone Liberation on the PSP to get a feel of what the Killzone universe is about.

I rated it 6/10. All the problems with it were obvious and can easily be fixed on the Ps3. But the restrictive Linear gameplay was really annoying.

I am a big Halo & Mercenaries fan. Halo has linear gameplay as well but useable vehicles and larger environments help detract from this short-coming.

A Sandbox Killzone can work. The Helghast aren't going to allow you - a Human - to roam about their cities without a serious fight.

Example of how sandbox play with E3 2007 Level would work:

You can fly the landing vehicle and decide where to land. You'll be forced to land quickly due to the Lightning towers. Then you will have to find a way - various - to get to the tower to take it out. Some vehicle might be around to smash your way through various parts of the city...

Actually the gameplay should be ideally a mixture of sandbox and linear like Mercenaries. If GG gets this right as well as the AI and net play then KZ2 will be one of the kings of all shooters.

I hear ya, so much in so little time. Also as you refer to, so much more then just the FPS's. But as one of the few who liked KZ on the PS2, I'll be addicted to KZ2. All they have to do is make the controls a bit better then the original and it's a 10 from all slam dunk, unless they get docked for not having theme packs available for a fee.

I will be the first to say that the screenshots look amazing. Thats right. AMAZING. But whats up with all the reviews/previews being posted on this site from Europe. I have to admit, this site is refreshing for PS3 support. I guess most PS3 fans know that the machine is awesome, but the media tried to have it's little say..until July...the month that has turned it all around forever...lol. The 360 is doing fine, but the PS3 is trying to come into its own, and needs the support of true fans...ie..the numerous guys and gals of this site. I understand what you are saying, but do not focus on that. You are a dual owner. Exclusive titles truly sell the systems...and Killzone 2 looks amazing.
