It was stated that enough content was cut from the game to make another title. Even after all the cuts FFXIII still manages to nearly fill a PS3’s dual layered Blu-Ray disc with uncompressed audio and video. The problem with the titles you listed is that they were all titles that had timed exclusivity that ran out. MS was able to keep that exclusivity for a certain time (until the potential system sales from said titles ran out), and then they tossed it to the side and focused on the next run of timed exclusivity for another title.

With the things the PS3 lost, they never even got as much as TIMED exclusivity. The 360 version (sans FF13 Japan) was always released at the same day, date, and time as the PS3 version, and the PS3 owners had to wait on the game until the 360 was done.

Honestly, I don't get why no one is able to understand that concept. That's really easy to understand, and yet, it's as if no one even brings it up. Because they DON'T! They don't because if they DO, it would destroy any case they have as to why MS has suffered "the same fate".

As far as the PS3 smear campaign went at launch, that consisted of many PS2 owners that weren't impressed with the price and games at launch also. It also only lasted about a year before the price was drastically reduced and the library built up. Four years later the backlash from Sony zealots is still going strong. You think this might be a little overkill by now? I would hope by now everyone was pretty content with their choice and this nonsense could stop.

While it seems dishonest that companies don't say they are timed exclusives at launch, you have to admit that kind of defeats the purpose of having an exclusive contract. As for The Last Remnant not being released on the 360, they had trouble with the 360 version. It had a bunch of presentation problems like framerate, etc. 360 is the easier console to develop for. SE probably had a lot more problems with the PS3 version. They would rather not waste their money and effort on it.

Bioware is wrong for misleading 360 gamers if they assured their installed base that ME2 was going to be a 360 exclusive. However, unlike SE, they are a wholly owned subsidiary of EA and are subject to what EA's ultimate decision is. I don't recall EA's Peter Moore or John Riccitello ever saying, "ME2 will stay on Xbox360." All I remember seeing were Bioware's own people assuring their customers.

On the otherhand, we have Square Enix's own CEO/President lying outright to his customers. They are their own studio and publisher. Do you see where I draw the differentiation? I am not trying to be a hypocrite in this regard.
I think the big problem with this day and age is that you can't trust people to keep to their word. Especially a company CEO/president.

Extra content gets left out of titles due to pacing and balancing issues all the time, it still doesn't support the argument that it was specifically gimped because of an Xbox 360 limitation. Let's imagine that this was in fact the case however. Why not put some of this extra content on an extra disc in the 360's case, Lost Odyssey was perfectly fine with four discs. Also, why not introduce this through DLC like it was previously promised? The fact is that this has more to do with useless data that probably doesn't add to much to the overall game then some sort of imaginary limitation like so many people like to imply.

When a company says that they're only making one version, and that you NEED this specific system for the game, and then a year later turn it around onto another system, which is rarely unheard of for games in Japan, you don't think one would go "Ape ****" over it as well.

Look at how much MS cares about their products in Japan. If SE starts riding on them, it would be a serious dent in quality for a lot of stuff, given with past recollections.

1. Xbox version getting more content than PS3 version thus shafting the FF fans who bought the game day 1.

2. Square backing up an American company. I dont really believe this, but certain people on this site believe the 360 is doing bad in japan because Japan hates American products.

3. Wada sucks. I dont have an explanation for this one, i just think he sucks lol.

4. That incident last year when they were trying to give away the 360 version of FF13 at some FF convention and it was booed off stage. I think that was pretty much a foreshadow of this death threat.....though that was in london lol

Square ambitions were so large then that the game they wanted to make could not be made on a cartridge system at that time, and the game was exclusive and they had sony's backing.
