'Now that Batman: Arkham Asylum has significantly upped the ante on super-hero games, it’s not surprising to see more developers trying to broaden the horizons of other comic book-based do-gooders. Spider-Man has at least had a reasonably decent track history for games, but Activision wisely decided to mix things up for the web-slinger’s latest adventure. Shattered Dimensions moves away from the open-world format, which felt precariously in need of a revamp, and instead, chooses to focus on character and combat.'
TW: “With the recent release of the sequel film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, I’ve been revisiting the astounding world of the Spider-Verse, enjoying both the prequel and the new sequel film in all their glory; and it’s led me to ask one question — why the hell isn’t there a Spider-Verse game?”
I too would like a whole game with the entire world looking like the animated movie. It could be awesome
Sometimes, companies feel they have to add a little star power to their games. So, they call in actual stars. Take a look at ten times where pulling in celebrities was a great idea.
Before Insomniac, there was Beenox; the studio reminisces on Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, and more
"I only wish we had five years on any one of the Spider-Man games we made!"
Well, you don't have to work for Activision ya know. But yeah, they did a fair job considering the limited resources and well....Activision.
TASM2 was like the last superhero movie that had a movie tie-in game accompanying it
Could it be? O.o
DEAR GOD!! We may actually have a decent Spiderman game coming out!
This might be the 1st Spiderman game I've tried in a loooong time. It looks like devs are starting to take movie/comic book games seriously.
Actually I think inFamous "upped the ante" before Batman.
It just wasnt an established superhero.
I think I have gotten to the point where I can discern from photo's and videos and developer diaries how well a game is going to score lol. That's either really good or really bad depending on how you look at it.
Spiderman 2 was so awesome. ;3
Now we're back to shooting web into the clouds.
I loved how you actually had to use buildings in Spiderman 2. >:[
