G4 Review: Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions

'Now that Batman: Arkham Asylum has significantly upped the ante on super-hero games, it’s not surprising to see more developers trying to broaden the horizons of other comic book-based do-gooders. Spider-Man has at least had a reasonably decent track history for games, but Activision wisely decided to mix things up for the web-slinger’s latest adventure. Shattered Dimensions moves away from the open-world format, which felt precariously in need of a revamp, and instead, chooses to focus on character and combat.'

Spiderman 2. :D

Since Spiderman 2 every game has been complete shovelware. Considering the game came out more than 7 years ago..I'd say thats a very long time.

BiggCMan5031d ago

6 years man, july, or june i think, of 2004. anyways, this game has looked great ever since it was announced. cant wait to play it.

Spidey 2 was good at first but quickly got repetitive.

I liked Ultimate Spiderman a couple of years back.

DarkTower8055031d ago

This might be the 1st Spiderman game I've tried in a loooong time. It looks like devs are starting to take movie/comic book games seriously.

Bathyj5031d ago

Actually I think inFamous "upped the ante" before Batman.

It just wasnt an established superhero.

I think I have gotten to the point where I can discern from photo's and videos and developer diaries how well a game is going to score lol. That's either really good or really bad depending on how you look at it.

Spiderman 2 was so awesome. ;3
Now we're back to shooting web into the clouds.
I loved how you actually had to use buildings in Spiderman 2. >:[

Spiderman 2 is nearly perfect. I've never played another game where just moving around was so much fun.

I’d Die For A Web-Slinging Spider-Verse Game in the Same Visual Style As the Animated Films

TW: “With the recent release of the sequel film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, I’ve been revisiting the astounding world of the Spider-Verse, enjoying both the prequel and the new sequel film in all their glory; and it’s led me to ask one question — why the hell isn’t there a Spider-Verse game?”

Didn't they already have that as a costume in the previous game.

There sure was a super sweet looking cell shaded suit. Made you feel like your actually playing a comic.

shinoff2183365d ago

The look is perfect we got enough games in that art style.

S2Killinit364d ago

It would still be sick though. And I dont mean cell shading to cut corners. It would have to be amazing like the movies themselves.

potatoseal365d ago

I too would like a whole game with the entire world looking like the animated movie. It could be awesome

jznrpg365d ago

I like this style better imo
