With Insomniac's Spider-Man right around the corner, we thought it'd be a good time to look back at some of the web-slinger's best games of all time.
Superhero games have been around for a long time before the PS2, but it felt like Sony’s second console was when developers really started to play around with the powers and abilities of the characters we’ve seen in movies, TV shows and comic books.
Just beat the Punisher game from the Marvel Capcom Arcade Collection last night, couch co-op with a buddy. That was fun.
Spider-Man 2 was life back then. I used to swing around New York and powerbomb thugs off of skyscrapers. Other than that I played Ultimate Alliance a lot as well as Hulk Ultimate Destruction.
The production values are top-notch across the board. If you are looking to play the ultimate version of Spider-Man 2, this is it.

Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man were great games. I even enjoyed the first movie tie in to some extent. 3 was garbage though, the frame rate was terrible.
Spider-Man for PSX was good for the time as was Spider-Man 2. I enjoyed Ultimate Spider-Man and Shattered Dimensions but Web of Shadows was my favorite because there wasn't really a lot of quality options on offer but come this Friday it looks like we are finally getting a top tier Spider-Man game!
Haven't seen a good one until Insomniac's version.
Shoot, out of this list I've only played Spider-Man 2. I guess I've been slacking over the last couple decades. Here's hoping Insomniac's game tops them all. I'll definitely be playing that.
