Kinect and Playstation Move, Amazon ranks

Here are the ranks of the motion-controls so far. This was taken
2010-09-02 at 08:40 in the morning, UK time. As it say in the post, this is, if anything, an indication of the Move doing very well so far. Kinect isn't being released in another two months.

interesting stats if true

move starter bundle seems like the best value at the moment

Breaking news: pre-order for the next un-announced Xbox not even ranked on Amazon! It looks like this is the end of the road for Microsoft \s

Seriously, this article is useless. Let's talk about this after Christmas, when we'll see who sold more.

Quoting myself from below:

@Bryanbegins, this is not meant to state how well something will sell. It just shows that move most likely will do well when it is released. It says nothing else and means nothing else :) And from a gaming/gamers perspective we should be happy! I hope both Kinect and Move do well so we have some competition.

:)

Talk to us 2 months after Kinect's release. See if any one still plays it after finding out the hard way that the thing doesn't deliver quite the way you imagined it would. Then your mini games and shovelware on rails doesn't interest you any more.

n4gno5401d ago

no matter what kinnect will sells, if it don't work, with no games, it would be too much, and sad for buyers who could have a way better move experience !

Except people were throwing around the "Kinect pre-orders stomp all over MOVE" articles a few weeks ago to 'prove' something then.

BryanBegins5401d ago

Yes it was useless as well. Although, at least they were comparing re-orders for two products that would hit shelves on months. WHile here, it's comparing a product that is being released right now versus a nother one in two months. Anyway, all the trolling on N4G about sales is pathetic, from both camps.

It's expected... Move comes out in 2 weeks... Kinect comes out in 2 months. As we come closer to the launch date, preorders increase.

Qui-Gon Jim5401d ago

... but this is also the day after all the (very positive) reviews for Move came out. It seems that some people were just waiting to see what reviewers had to say after spending quality time with Move.

especially seeing as its cheaper at quite a few retailers.

lucifon5401d ago

Move is out in a couple of weeks, Kinect isn't out for a few months. It's just common knowledge that preorders ramp up as you get closer to the release, so these stats are utter pointless.

fucadastates5401d ago

jeps, its like comparing gt5 (long wait still) to halo reach (out sooooooooon!!!!!)
come jul (Christmas) we can talk sales if we are not just playing the great games :)

Jdoki5401d ago

I'd also argue that one retailer (no matter how big) isn't anything more than a vague gauge of demand.

Most Sony products have a long tail, I don't see the Move being any different. It's just another controller solution that people can buy if and when they want.

I don't see first day sales being crazy high.

Chris_TC5401d ago

Amazon sales stats are a meaningful enough sample. However, with the release dates of these systems so far apart, comparing the number of pre-orders is completely pointless and silly.

a08andan5401d ago

Thats why I said "Kinect isn't being released in another two months"

:)

Narutone665401d ago

the move sold more than Kinect, the 360 fans will be saying that Move was released earlier than Kinect.

kasasensei5401d ago

Promising. There is a real gap between the two devices.

rekof5401d ago

but one actually works,..and the other is a piece of crap,..

PlayStation Move Controller Used to Perform Surgery on a Pig That Was 5,780 Miles Away

A group of surgeons made headlines after they managed to perform an endoscopic procedure on a pig located in Hong Kong by using PlayStation controllers. It involved the use of a PS5 DualSense controller as well as a PlayStation Move controller.

There is at least a few good jokes that could come from that title

Cacabunga243d ago

Yet another powerful device Sony gave up supporting. KZ3 move was one of the best motion controller implementation ever

just_looken243d ago

Right the ps move was awesome i have the gun thing from killzone still.

Relientk77244d ago

That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Lexreborn2244d ago

Guess that submarine should’ve used move controllers instead of logitech
