Sony Unveals PlayStation Move Technology Reel - 3D Modeling, Interactive Menus, More

With the launch of the PlayStation Move motion-controller just weeks away, Sony's gone and released an interesting technology demonstration reel showcasing what's possible via their upcoming control set-up. Anton Mikhailov guides us through a variety of tech-demos and hypothetical schemes that the combination of Move + Navigational Controller, Move + Move, and simply Move by itself can offer to not just gamers, but the average consumer as well.

looks fantastic. I think move is going to surprise many people.

psman0125416d ago

Agreed. I cant believe its coming out in less than a month!

totallysane5416d ago

comes out on a friday man...two weeks away

Trebius5416d ago

I agree.

Everytime I see a new tech demo I get more excited ...

The PSMove is looking to be a worthwhile purchase for people that are interested in gaming with it.

The best part is even if you dont want to use it to game, it's going to be great navigating the web and messing around with the camera and making videos.

sikbeta5416d ago

Damn PlayStation Move, it's shining already, this thing will be a total blast...

PlayStation Move = Augmented Reality FTW!!!

Redempteur5416d ago

@sikbeta

actually MOVE is not required for augmented reality ...it's a tech that existed on Eye toy 1 , and was perfected to his state in 2005 .. the first PS3 AR game was eye of judgement ..folowwed by 5,6 mini games ..
heck even eyepet use it without move .

NOw i agree that AR with MOve seems WAY better than these previoous methods thanks to rumble and stuff.

The person in the above image looks drunk, ahaha.

ABizzel15416d ago

The chameleon, pottery/sculpting, and the 3D interface demos were amazing.

Make games and apps with those not demos.

pain777pas5416d ago

@Frankymv

You're right. Software will be the key however, it seems easy to implement for basic stuff like shooters. I have a feeling we're going to be suprised at how well it works and for certain games wholeheartedly prefer playing with it than a controller.

Silly Mammo5416d ago

I love how Sony keeps releasing new tech demos that show more and more things the Move can do. While MS comes up with more and more excuses about the limitations of Kinect.

Flame on!!

zak94ma5416d ago

i think move will take kinect down .

Move > Kinect

Its just how I predicted it to be. Move offers gameplay similar to the Wii with more improvements, while Kinect remains to be the shaky piece of technology that was passed up by Nintendo and Sony. Hopefully Microsoft will learn from this. OH YEAH...how much are Kinect games going to cost? =D SIXTY BUCKS. Lol, I hope 360 owners enjoy it. Need any help moving your coffee tables? Gotta clear space to use Kinect!

PS3-2475416d ago

Don't forget the new XBL fees lol.

totallysane5416d ago

"THEY'RE GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT!"

Shadow Flare5416d ago

You can see why Sony dropped the kinetc idea now. No buttons means a limited experience. And they would know after all cos of eyetoy. So well done Sony for being smart. And thanks for supporting the core ps3 gamers and not just focusing all on casual. Can't wait to try RUSE with Move. I couldn't give a crap if kinetc sold a billion. Move for me is way better and a true advancement in motion technology. Delivering real experiences, not just promising then then disappointing. Kinetc.

CellularDivinization5416d ago

LOL are you seriously bragging about your new casual toy?

"my casual wiimote ripoff is better than your eyetoy ripoff"
Are you 12? If so, you are forgiven.

Unveal would be 'lacking meat of a young calf'

I don't feel like reporting this for such a stupid mistake, but please edit and fix it. It looks pretty bad to have an obvious error in your heading.

And since it's both here AND on the actual site, I'm assuming it wasn't just a typo, that someone at the site doesn't know the correct word.

ThatArtGuy5416d ago

It's like a reveal, but the "un" side of it.

jay25416d ago

We already know that 50+ games will use MOVE, we don't need to say much more about Dis-kinect VS move, Dis-Kinect is a dead ma....cam downgrading.

lovemyps35416d ago

i honestly was never EVER going to buy the move, but when the games moved in and i seen socom, killzone 3, sorcery, heard about dead space extraction, littlebigplanet with move functionality..i FLIPPED!!!!! IM BUYING DAY 1 BABY!

PS3-2475416d ago (Edited 5416d ago )

Project: Horned Owl Review

From the mid-1980s to the early part of the 2000s, light gun rail shooters were a staple in both arcade and home system gaming. Arguably, the genre started to really hit its stride in the mid-1990s. While games like Time Crisis, Virtual Cop, and House of the Dead, among others, dominated both the home system and arcade space, some one relegated to only home game systems. Today, we’ll be talking about a little-known cult game published by Sony called Project: Horned Owl. This game was developed by Alfa Systems, and all in all, this is a fun game.

The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
