Nintendo Now: Metroid: Other M Review
Thanks to the Metroid Prime series, the adventures of Samus Aran have successfully made the transition from 2D to 3D. In the process, the gameplay changed drastically to a first-person adventure. With the Prime series now over, Nintendo is once again changing up gameplay for Metroid with the newest release in the franchise, Metroid: Other M. A sort of mixture between the side-scrolling adventures and the first-person. Utilizing just the Wii remote, players control Samus like in the NES days, but point the Wii remote at the screen, and you'll get the Prime first-person view. It's definitely something different, but no matter how unique it is, it won't mean much if it doesn't work. Fortunately, and surprisingly, it works very well. However, other parts of the game may not be viewed just as good, especially if you're a long-time Metroid fan.
