Kirby On Virtual Console (RunDLC)

Nintendo has quite a stable of adorable characters, but only a select few are cuter than Kirby. For almost 20 years, the smiling pink puffball has enjoyed quite the career, both in solo adventures and appearances in the Super Smash Bros. series, where he plays a starring role as one of the longest tenured fighters; you can even snag the first game via download.

Thankfully, you can find a handful of his best titles on Virtual Console, where the hungry hungry hero consumes his enemies and battles familiar foes across three unique platforms.

I take a liking to Kirby's Avalanche myself (even if it is just a modified Mean Bean Machine).

But it is a cuter Mean Bean Machine!!

Wow, now that brings back a lot of memories. I still own Kirby’s Adventure for the NES and Kirby Super Star for the SNES. Lot's of good times in those games. They're both definitely worth picking up on the Virtual Console.

I agree. And the price is pretty decent on them. The most expensive is the N64 Kirby.

Here's the Ghetto Gamer list of top 20 soundtracks from the 16-bit era.

Kirby's Adventure - Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games

"In the Game Concepts category, I'll be looking back at how I came up with the ideas for each of my games. For this second entry, we'll look at Kirby's Adventure.

Kirby's Adventure is the first game where Kirby had the power to copy enemy abilities. I'll talk about where this and some of the other ideas in the game came from, and touch upon the circumstances that led to its creation."
