The reason these developers are out of line right now is because they are passing the blame to the consumers. The fact is that used game retailers are stealing from the developers, not the consumers.

The developers have attacked and sued used game retailers for years because they weren't paying developers a share of the profits. The developers said they were stealing and were thieves yet still lost in court. Now they are attacking the consumers because they couldn't get the real pirates to pay. Although the courts say it's okay I find it unethical for these used game companies to refuse them a share. Why? They are hurting new game sales.

the only people pissed off though are obviously used game buyers and they stated they don't give a cr@p about those gamers, and rightly so. it is the media that decides how the majority will feel about a statement by how they will spin it. personally what THQ said made perfect sense to me and we all actually know it to be true before even reading the articles.

like i said, it all depends on how the media spins it given people can't think for themselves these days.

on topic, this is no different to any other industry that deals in new and used products. unfortunately the gaming industry just has to except that when they are dealing with child consumers, used games are going to be quite popular.
