Is the SMART engine in Brink the future of FPS

It's a little different since it's in first person. Looking up to ascend a ledge and looking down to slide makes for a smoother gameplay experience rather than having to press a button.

At least that's what I've seen from the vids

Brink look like wannabe Killzone 2, come on dude's the envoirment and the color pallet look suspiciously much as Killzone 2, but way less intensive/grafichs/visual and lighting than the real Killzone 2.

The development team will have to have made some MAJOR improvements from the E3 build that they showed off. I am hopeful for the game but nothing about the game was impressive at E3. The visuals were very low quality, the level/map that I played was boring and old, and the objectives were just downright confusing.

Of course I only played the game for about 15 minutes. It has some great potential but the game just isn't there yet. Hopefully Splash Damage will be able to make everything come together by the time it comes out next year.

I'd say yes by just looking at it, but Brink uses id Tech 4(might be a heavily modified version) and Rage uses 5, Call of Duty uses 3.

Well you can do stuff like that in Mirror's Edge, only with less effort in Brink. Thats not groundbreaking for me. That is why ME was so good, it was the fact that you are actually pulling off all those wall jumps, slides, etc by yourself. If you could just point and click all that the game would lose its appeal.

In Brink's defense,having to concentrate on doing those parkour type moves might take your mind off the shooting.

This games looks to be great, but you never know if it is until you get your hands on. But so far it looks like it is going to be a very good game.

I was playing MAG one day after watching a Brink trailer, when the bunker started to shot at me. I started to think "Boy it would be cool if I could slide to cover"....and I die lol.

Brink and Reach are going to hold me over in the FPS Market for a long time. Now what to think about Crysis 2. I'm going to need super computer to run that bad boy.
