Comparing Harry Potter’s Kinect Features to Move’s Sorcery

Two soon to be released motion control systems, two magic-based 3rd person action games. One of them, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will release on all systems, but will include Kinect-specific modes exclusive to the Xbox 360.

The other, Sorcery – a PS3 exclusive – is free from the shackles of a film licence. They both involve using motion to cast spells – but comparing them it’s pretty easy to see which uses motion control better.

Both look pretty cool but I think if I had to choose, I'd go with Sorcery. Rails aren't my thing

We get so caught up about advancing in technology, that we forget the little things we were happy to be able to do on our own like..... move.

It's like communication. We have so many different ways to communicate and interact all over the world, but cellphone companies still can't give me at least 3 bars when I'm in my basement.

There is not much that the cellphone companies can do about the metal conduit and piping that surrounds the average basement.

Could always add a cellular tower to your backyard decor. =P

EA has some time to work on HP. I hope they put it to good use. There are lots of ways to implement motion with out a controller. They could use the old mouse controll method, where you just controll the character by guiding it with your hands. You would switch to action mode by clapping and then back to navigation with another clap. There are other ideas for doing this, they just need to take the time to implement a system that is intuative and don't rush the game out.

sorcery looked like most arcade titles while the harry potter game had some incredible details and realism, and atleast kinect works right.

check your eyes, or stop being a fan girl. which ever apples.

will make both titles better than they could have been without it

Competition ? Both look pretty. One works, the other one doesn't. No competition.

I saw the lag in Harry Potter. Poor Weasley's.

Scorcery looks like it's going to be really good. I hope they give it the Killzone level graphics treatment.

East_Coast3009d ago (Edited 3009d ago )

My vote is for Sorcery.

Never thought I'd see a Harry Potter game in a comparison

ChozenWoan3009d ago

and never thought a HP article would make it to the front page.. but here we are.

Shazz3009d ago (Edited 3009d ago )

Sorry but sorcery never had massive amounts of delay

Kurisu3009d ago

I wondered when this article would pop up.

Yep, on-rails part of a multiplat game vs a Sony exclusive...

The lag in the Harry Potter game was bad.
