GameSpot: Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Review

For as long as it lasts, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is a good game. Its biggest problem is that there simply isn't enough of it. The story mode isn't likely to take much more than four hours on your first play-through; the Arcade mode takes even less time than that to get old; and while the multiplayer options are fun, they suffer from lag and there simply aren't enough of them to compensate for the shortcomings of the solo offerings.

Jeff can now sue Gamespot for unfair firing

SilentNegotiator5391d ago (Edited 5391d ago )

AHAHAHAHA!!! This review score is highly full of win whether you agree with it or not.

Anyway, I totally agree with this review.
Ugly graphics and filters, bad/cheap enemy AI, short, workable but still not so great cover, laggy online/co-op, short value (short campaign, few maps).

greeneggsnsam5391d ago

Hah, same score as the first one with all the controversy.

OhReginald5391d ago

the reason why someone was fired for the first review is because that reviewer Jeff whats his face was acting immature in his video. truly unprofessional.

TheIneffableBob5391d ago

Here's what happened:
So, GameSpot HAD (past-tense is important. They don't do this anymore) an editorial team and a marketing team that sort of communicated with each other. The editorial team wrote the review and made the video for Kane & Lynch and gave it an average score. Eidos advertised heavily on the site and was not happy with this and they were all like "Yo, bitches, what up with this whack score" to GameSpot. And the head of GameSpot marketing was all like, "Oh dang, I'll go see what's up." So the dude talks to Gerstmann about changing the score to make Eidos happy and Gerstmann was like, "Shiet bro, that ain't cool. I ain't doin' that!" They couldn't reach an agreement so the GS marketing guy fired Gerstmann. This, as you all know, sparked a bunch of controversy and eventually the executives at CNet got involved and the marketing guy who fired Gerstmann got fired himself.

Now the editorial and marketing departments at GameSpot are totally independent of one another.

The end.
Or is it?

What a shitty f***** list! Most of the games on it were great fun. Bullshit list.

chantii_mmohaven861d ago

yep this is truly a b*tthurt list :/

MadLad861d ago

I think the only one I agreed on was Anthem, and even that isn't horrendous.

Knushwood Butt862d ago

Anthem; I'd forgotten that game existed. I remember thinking the trailer was BS though; turns out I was right.

Cueil860d ago

the game wasn't bad though

RavenWolfx861d ago

"Worst big budget games" and immediately lists Genshin Impact, a game that has $4 billion in revenue.

blackblades861d ago

$3 billion and counting along with alot of users. I disagree with that being on the list. This list is just a person opinion without merit

monkey602861d ago

I havent played Genshin Impact and Mafia 3 was alright. The rest though I kind of agree with.
I loved the 1st Kane and Lynch and I could not understand how the 2nd game was as bad as it was.

Grab Kane & Lynch 2 for free right now on Xbox One and Xbox 360 thanks to Xbox Games With Gold

James writes - "It may be old, it may be rather brutal and gritty, but seeing as Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days no longer costs a penny, shouldn’t you at least grab it and make the most of the Games With Gold scheme?"

It's free so it's worth a shot but from what I remember it's not the best

TheColbertinator2880d ago

No,not even free. Avoid this one.

Kallisti2880d ago

I've heard nothing but bad things about this game

Wotbot2880d ago

It has the most gritty story you will ever play.

Not perfect but a brilliant co-op game.

NerveGearneeded2880d ago

Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for July 2017 any good?

Neil writes "This time last month I was waxing lyrical about how good it was to see the likes of Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed III, Dragon Age: Origins and a new game, SpeedRunners, be gifted to all Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners as part of the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for June 2017.

Now though we’re on the verge of being treated to even more free titles, but unfortunately the calibre of game given away with July’s Games With Gold scheme doesn’t quite match up to the month before it ."

Worst thing is the new game seems too similar to the last new game, need some variety!

BiggerBoss2882d ago

Embarrassing when put up against PlayStation Plus this month.

Skull5212882d ago

👎*insert fart noise here*

OldGuyStillGaming2882d ago

Absolutely worst month this year for GWG

EatCrow2882d ago

Worst ive seen in a while.

Software_Lover2882d ago

It's not going to be top tier every month. They have been pretty good lately. The sine curve was bound to hit the bottom at some point.
