More awesomeness!
After watching the trailer and with Levine's backing, this game just shot straight up to the top my most anticipated list.

Cheeseknight285427d ago

I was pretty damn excited for Bioshock 2, was a bit disappointed after I beat it, and I told myself "Not buying the next one until price drop."

And... I think I'm gonna eat those words.

bobcostus5427d ago

In the interview he clearly says it's a modified version of Unreal 3, not an entirely new engine. He meant it was entirely separate from Bioshock 1's.

fossilfern5427d ago

iv had bioshock 2 since launch and haven't touched it at all !!!!! need to play it !

Pandamobile5427d ago

Thank god. I was getting sick of Unreal 2.5

Wow, can you say "baaahhhh"? You sound like sheep.

MariaHelFutura5427d ago (Edited 5427d ago )

LOL. Some missed their yoga classes today.

:(

And YOUR the one who just made sheep noises.

DelbertGrady5427d ago (Edited 5427d ago )

I am not sick of games like Mass Effect 2 or Batman: Arkham Asylum. They are two of the best playing and best looking games this gen, and guess what engine they use?

Some use it better than others, like the ones mentioned above. Blaming the engine for Bioshock 2's visual shortcomings is just retarded.

Downtown boogey5426d ago (Edited 5426d ago )

Well, be DAMNED! I agree with Soda!
You guys are such idiots. Some of the best looking games this gen are utilizing UE3 anyway. Not 'THE best' but 'some' just FFS.

STONEY45426d ago

Unreal 3. Bioshock 1 and 2 use an extremely modified version of UE 2.5, which I think was a lame thing to do since UE3 has been around for ages now, and obviously looks better.

God yes. This is better than the game's announcement. The Unreal Engine was the absolute worst option to chose for the first two games. Lets hope it is a propriety engine, or at least the CryEngine 3.

Scratch that...they are still using Unreal Tech...*falls to knees* WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYY

Vermillion5427d ago

I don't understand the hate with Unreal Engine. They're fantastic, I've worked with it using UDK.

Screenshot of Deck using the latest Unreal Engine 3 http://img43.imageshack.us/...

Also, this game is going to kick ass!

Johandevries5426d ago

@2.2.1

I agree that the game is going to kick ass, but graphically it won't.

STONEY45426d ago (Edited 5426d ago )

That map is godly compared to the 2004 version of the map and the Epic Games made maps for UT3. Mapmakers usually push out crazy graphics somehow.

Elven65427d ago

They're going to be using a modified version of Unreal Engine 3

-Ikon-5427d ago

Unreal Engine 2.75 then huh

SaberEdge5427d ago

Umm how was Unreal 3 Engine not a huge leap over the previous Unreal Engine?

I thought Bioshock looked great. It's still one of the better looking games today.

vickers5005427d ago

Damn, accidentally disagreed with you.

Thank God. I was getting sick of all ya muhfuckas

I'm about to gun! You ugly as hell nigga! You look mad sweet, with your crusty ass avatar! That's right I'm coming at your fatass neck!

The title had me hoping they where making a new engine from scratch but UE3 is OK I guess also hope the PS3 is lead platform

OpenGL5427d ago

DirectX 11 support please!

LeonSKennedy4Life5427d ago (Edited 5427d ago )

This game is going to be so incredible!

I've been with them since the original System Shock...and I don't plan on leaving any time soon. They're just an incredible team...and Ken is such an aware developer.

EDIT: Let's hope!

bodybombs5427d ago

makes you wonder if they're thinking about bringing system shock back to life later on

kaos_fish II5427d ago

One can dream..

System Shock 1 & 2 are still 2 of the most awesome games ever made.

And damn it, SHODAN needs to return.

Top 10 Rarest Xbox 360 Games That Are Worth a Fortune

Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

Soy696d ago

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz695d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher695d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy695d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg695d ago (Edited 695d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
