Where did my Sunday go? SFG’s Archibald’s Adventure Review

SFG writes: It is rare that I get the house to myself for a weekend, but when I do, I usually engage of long sessions of gaming. I spent this Saturday, logging a bunch of hours on Resistance 2 on-line co-op, so when i woke up Sunday I was ready for a change. I decided to check out the PSP mini Archibald’s Adventure. When it finished installing, I thought I would give it a quick try before breakfast. Next thing I know, it was dinner time.

Puzzle Platformer 'Archibald's Adventures' coming to PSP minis

Ex: Fans of indie games make know developer Rake in Grass for their horror-action PC title Larva Mortus, an enjoyable mashup of games like SmashTV and Diablo.

This morning, the company announced the arrival of Archibald's Adventures on the PSP minis platform. Previously released on iPhone and PC, the title hits the European PSN store today, and follows in North America on July 20th.

Inside Mac Games: Archibald's Adventures Review

At just under 15 dollars Archibald's Adventures is ludicrously cheap and the average platforming fan would be mad to miss out. It truly impressed IMC in the graphics and gameplay areas - though the sound didn't seem to keep up with the same quality level.

Overall it plays very well and provides a challenging puzzle experience to boot - a very well made game that they would highly recommend.

Casual Review: Archibald's Adventures

The lack of ornamentation is part of the game's beauty, and is more than compensated with its incredible amount of polish. Featuring clean artwork animated at a fluidly smooth frame rate, a pleasantly casual audio soundtrack, and levels created with heartfelt sincerity, Archibald's Adventures packs over a hundred levels, presented through a family-friendly storybook-style narrative. Oh yes, the polish doesn't just stop here; it goes to its technical aspects as well. Apart from the provision of joystick and joypad support, the game also runs on both Mac and PC platforms, with a Windows Mobile version currently in production.
