5 game sequels to look forward to

When a series of video games is beloved by fans, it's risky for makers to put a new game in the series out for testing.

The fans can be brutal if a sequel doesn't live up to expectations about the franchise.

But sometimes the risk pays off.

Here are some of the best of the best upcoming sequels, set to be released this fall and in the spring. The list is based on interviews at the recent Comic-Con convention in San Diego, California, where professional gamers and amateurs got a chance to demo these new titles.

Definitely Gears 3 and I know it's not listed but Infamous 2 are my big ones for next year. By the way, DC Universe online? I get why it's on the list, but why not add a real sequel, like say....Infamous 2?

Right now I really want Fable 3. Been playing Fable 2 all week and I'm really enjoy it. I think as long as you avoid Molyneuxspeak pre-launch, you'll be much happier with those games when they launch.

I'm right with you. I can recommend this preview from EDGE - http://www.next-gen.biz/fea... They go into detail about most of the new features. Morphing weapons, auto-generated quests, new fighting mechanics etc.

I'm hyped about the sequel to Red Faction: Guerrilla as well.

Won't help me considering I just tried t get as fat as possible on my last time playing Fable2. Wondering if your descendants and some of your traits in them might carry over though.

No mention of diablo 3 portal 2 or killzone 3 but they do put the mediocre starwars game in the list and dc universe which isnt a sequel fail list fails.

Those games are releasing in 2011 (2012/2013 for Diablo 3).

Oh hm... for some reason I thought I read in the article that it was for Fall 2010 releases.

EDIT: Yeah, it says Fall and Spring releases, so Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. In that case, Portal 2 and Killzone 3 could be on the list.

then LittleBigPlanet 2 is the big one for me. That looks like infinite amounts of fun.

Next year? Yakuza 4. Can't get enough of those happy clappy jappy chappies beating the snot out of each other.

Agree with Gears 3, but no little big planet, killzone 2, gran turismo 5, infamous 2, halo reach, deus ex, and numerous other mega titles says more than enough about CNN's knowledge of gaming.
