Shame Demon´s Souls isnt on the list. If the writer says that Mass Effect 2 can´t be missed what about Demon´s Souls?

for me morrowind has bigger and better plot
bigger and more varied map

better spells

cities arent seperate cells (thats why you cant fly in oblivion)

many more quests

more weapons and armour

better and more guilds

you have to be good at your skill to be good in a guild i.e know lots of spells to be good in mages guild unlike oblivion where my swordman is the leader of the mages guild

no stupid leveling baddies and loot

I really, completely agree. Though, it's certainly a test of patience, memory and skill. So in essence, it's a true gamer's game. I don't know why 2 people would disagree with you! Demon's Souls is friggin' awesome.

It definitely has that old-school feel, where you memorize enemy positions, attack patterns and other aspects to better yourself. I miss games like that; the game is only as cheap as you allow it to be.

Because they don't like Demons Souls? Personally I thought the game was awesome, but being as hard as it is, I can see why people might not like it. Its definitely not your standard pick up and play RPG.

I am so damn lost by this article. His #7 says "Final Fantasy III" which automatically makes me wonder if he's talking about the Japanese 3 or 6. The description says Americans never played it until a DS remake, which is true for the original 3. But the release date says 1994, which was the release date of the original 6 in Japan.

I'm just going to guess that he had no idea what he's talking about and just put it on there because he heard it's one of the best and forgot to double check his facts. I could be wrong, but that's just my hunch simply because I can't imagine anyone thinking so highly of the original 3... it's not nearly as good as 4-10.

Not the biggest rpg fan, myself. I do, however, feel Suikoden 1&2 are two of the best games ever made. They really captivated me then and to this day. They rank on my top 20 games of all time, that's for sure. Suikoden is in my top 10, easily. Suikoden 2 slips to around 15.

I like action/rpg's more than standard, you take a turn I take a turn combat, though. Alundra, Zelda, Crystalis all come to mind and are all brilliant games. Love the hell out of Alundra. As for Final Fantasy and all that junk, no thanks. I can't sit through 30 min of one without being bored to tears.

Many cases of turn based combat are bad because you can just mash attack endlessly, but try that in the Shin Megami Tensei games and it's a one way ticket to the grave. If you like strategy in your RPGs I can't recommend that series enough.

That piece of crap posing as a Final Fantasy game? That is one of the few games in my collection that I've never finished and it wasn't because of lack of trying. It was just mind numbingly boring and plain. I actually thought FFX-2 was more entertaining than 12, though i never finished that either.

dude it was the best RPG game and the best PS2 game ever,great environment,soundtrack,fightin g system,design,monsters...it was like a whole new mythology not just a game....stories about the monsters and connected quests etc...the only think that sucked was the summons,and kinda the story,but still awesome :D

the real FF's that sucked are turnbased ones

For me Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are the best RPGs followed by Mass Effect

KOTOR 2 doesn't get near the credit it deserves especially when it comes to the writing. Makes the game darker and raises very interesting question rarely asked in any medium involving Star Wars.

ME2 I find is a huge improvement over the first one. The action is more fluid. The characters more fleshed out. And don't get me started on the suicide mission. Mass Effect 2 is one of my favourite games ever.

On my opinion if he counted this list as the modern games demon's souls well be crowned ( got my platinum after one month camping without online :P )PSN:[SIN-SHI]and after it is valkyeria chronicles man that game is awesome.

But if he counted this list as an all time one he failed miserably, cause there are a lot of games should be included not just top 10 list don't want to mention any cause i feel i will misjudge those lovely series from square-enix,atlus,capcom,namco ,software....etc wht i included are most a JRPG.

They are both just shooters with small RPG elements combined into them. Without VATs in Fallout 3 it would just be an open world FPS game.
