Force Unleashed Producer Resigns

The executive producer and writer of the Force Unleashed videogame series, Haden Blackman, has resigned from LucasArts today after spending 13 years with the studio, the company confirmed to IGN.

Seriously, what is going on at LA? First D-Rod, now this... IF the new blood brings out SWBF3 I'll be happy, but I really want to know what's going on over there. Need some rebel spies to get some info.

Sometimes people leave because they feel they need to do something different. The way this is presented, it looks like he hung in until the end of the development elements that involved the story and has decided to do something not Star Wars related. Heck, 10 years at my current job and I'm likely to leave and try something new as well.

Wow, I met Haden at CCSD and talked with him extensively. He was a really cool and laid back guy that was very proud of what LA had accomplished with Force Unleashed 2. This news comes as a complete shock to me. However, I think I may have a good idea as to why he really left.

I'm seriously at ends with this game. If it's anything like first then I'll be greatly disappointed.

Scrapped Multiplayer for 360 and PS3
Little to no replay value.
Waaay too easy, even at the hardest difficulty.

LucasArts need to step it up with this one and not just rehash the same B.S from the first. I'd really like Multiplayer to be implemented.

This is a SINGLE player game, like Bioshock 1. Go play Old Republic when it comes out then you can lightsaber duel with other nermans.

Old Republic and Force Unleashed's game types are completely different. I wouldn't expect most people to know what would help this game. If you've ever played Jedi Knight Academy, you'd see how stupid that statement was. This game is one of those few games that would be better off with included multiplayer like it was ORIGINALLY planned to have with the first, but they scrapped it and gave it to the Wii, despite the Wii was getting a Clone Wars title a few months later, which is complete bull.

Not sure how to take this one. He was responsible for the story (which was excellent on the first one). Will his late stage absence have any effect on the final product?

I was going to pre-order...perhaps now a wait and see is required.

I imagine LucasArts was going to continue with the Force Unleashed past #2 and he probably wanted to do some new stuff. The first one sold well and no reason not to expect similar sales with the 2nd, so just like Assassin's Creed and other hits they will keep pumping them out as long as the public buys them.
