Why FIFA 11 will never be as good as FIFA 98…

... if the training-mode would be expanded, so that you can set up 5vs5 matches on a smaller field, or indoor, or on street-fields, etc etc.

Really looking forward to this fall though, with both FIFA11 AND Pro Evo looking very promising.

i have 98 or 99' for the N64 and i agree that it was so good back when i was younger. yeah and the training (i guess bc i was a kid) was probably the most fun part. 1v1 with your friend or the a.i.

99 was exactly like 98 just with some graphics improvements, the mouth motion thing blow me away at the time

I totally agree. Ever since the start of Skysports’ Masters Football I’ve wanted it to appear in PES or FIFA. Can you imagine being able to play with all the old greats and you could even have it linked in with Manager Mode, so that as players retire in that, they move into the Masters mode.

Or as you say, have a dream team version…….come on EA (or Konami)

They will all never be as good as Sensible Soccer on my Amiga 500, now that was a soccer game that was played till death. Not as real as todays soccer games, sure, but it brought a hell of a lot entertainment and gaming hours!

I played the XBLA demo a bunch of times, which is very nice as well, but they should really make an updated version with real licenses, names, and updated graphics. And each year just release a 400 MS point update with the new transfers and stats and stuff.

Could be the ultimate XBLA MP game.

I remember that game almost like yesterday.

Infact i still remember getting the very first Fifa on the Megadrive (Or Genesis, depending where you're from), and before that, Sensible World of Soccer and the original Championship Manager (for which my brother was in, Stephen Nugent at Wigan Athletic :) ). Infact, my interest in gaming started with those two games

I absolutely loved the indoor mode in this game. It was so fun. If they replicated this I think we would see a modified version of FIFA Street. That isn't a terrible thing but I don't think it could match what 98 did. At the time it was still new.
