148Apps: "Before I review Chillingo’s new puzzle game, The Jim & Frank Mysteries: The Blood River Files, I need to make a confession: I have not played a Professor Layton games for more than 5 minutes. This is important, because, as anyone who’s even remotely familiar with the Professor Layton series will note, Jim & Frank Mysteries is a very definite imitation of that popular Nintendo DS franchise. The comparisons are expected, but I can’t provide them. All I can do is judge the game on its own merits."
MacWorld: What happens when you mix eccentric family members, an instigator best friend, and an annual birthday quest? The Jim and Frank Mysteries: The Blood River Files, a puzzle-based adventure game from Chillingo.
AppSafari: Seeing as I kind of have a thing for academic types, puzzles, and top hats, it should come as no surprise that I secretly pine for a crack at Professor Layton on the iPhone.
TheAppera: The game is embedded with twisted puzzles and tasks for you to rattle out of. From the graphics to the engaging story, this is possibly one of the best puzzle games I’ve ever played.
