Sony Reveals The Truth About Letting Microsoft Have Kinect

The ongoing battle between the Kinect and Playstation Move gets deeper and deeper but with this new information revealed in this video everyone will understand why Playstation Move has the edge in this battle.

Then the same company went to Sony HQ to show the tech and Sony rejected, Dr Richard Marks tested the camera and said it was expensive for what it can do, so they found an affordable product for Motion-gaming = PS-EYE + Move

It's not that I "hate" MS. Just that I dont see anything in Kinect to look forward. I mean nothing, pure casual shovelware, because the tech doesnt allow for much more.

early 90's i think, i remember the ads in my old gaming mags and is the kinect's ancestor.It was advertised as playing Mortal Kombat with it would change everything,but it changed nothing.Unlike the WII and NINTENDO who have been constantly innovating, Nintendo has been copied a whole lot more than the other 2 by FAR.

I also remember the 3d PC games that were out long before nintendo, sega, and sony ever thought of coming up with the idea. However since the majority of gamers are much too young to remember these things they get a warped sense of reality. They start believing that their console of choice is the master of innovation when most likely 9/10 someone already invented that long ago.

I don't see how there are so many videos showing what Move can do and the potential it has and people still defend the Kinect with videos showing it still glitching and lagging and based on Microsoft's empty promises of games in the future that they have yet to show any examples or tech demos of. Kinect plus Ps Move controller would of been brutal though, i don't see kinect being all that great for the hardcore though at least not without some sort of controller. The accuracy of the tracking seems very tight. I'm not sure if taht is a new type of PSEye camera (on the top of the tv), but whatever it is (possibly just optimal lighting conditions), its looking fantastic. It almost has zero noticeable lag. Impressive.

People defending kinect over move can't seriously be interested in games. Move can have some amazing RPGs but kinect won't be able to do this to the same high standard. A star wars game with move would be unbelievable. MGS Rising with move would also be amazing.

They may be interested in games but also interested in other things that Kinect will be perfect for. I think the difference between the two is that - Move is more a gaming peripheral where Kinect is something that could be used in a wider range of applications.

Personally I see both Kinect and Move doing pretty poor initially with Move having the slight edge in sales - I think most gamers are taking a "wait and see approach", especially with Kinect, because the tech still has a shitload of improvement in it, whereas I can't see Move changing much over it's lifespan.

I actually think that microsoft will end up adding a device with button feedback to be used with kinect not dissimilar to move. When they see the games move will be doing they will want to be a part of them and not lose out. The 360 controller as it is wont do because it isn't practical enough to be used with kinect and remain immersive. All hell would break loose if they did but see if microsoft care.

There's little, if anything, that Kinect can be used for that Move can't. The difference is that with Move's controllers you'll have more control options literally at your fingertips. Navigating menus with hand gestures is cool and all, but don't think for a second that Move can't do the same thing, and with more precision. Move on the other hand can do things that Kinect can't. Again... it's about precision and control flexibility. Microsoft will eventually come out with a Move-like controller, which will totally negate the whole hands free sales gimmick.

I personally wouldn't call it a gimmick. I actually see Kinect as a natural evolution of multitouch systems, and the flexibility that a MT system offers with the right software running it is amazing.

I've built my own MT table for music purposes and I really think that MT and real interactive interfaces are the way forward, and personally I think Kinect offers more in that regard.

Lightsabers all of a sudden means a deaper game? Why, because now when I swing it actually responds in-game? People, if anything is certain it's that these add-ons won't necessarily replace what REALLY makes a game deeper. And that's gameplay.

Back in the day FF III (VI) was DEEP! No motion, no rumble, no analogs, no Xbox Live, no PSN, no game installs, no cross-game chat, no HD. Just gameplay.

Three generations (and thousands of $$$) later, the proof will always be in that moment when you realize you should've gone to the bathroom when you had the chance...but you were too drawn in to let go :)

I gotta say ive been dubious about watching the HHG show for a long time and decided to watch a few this week, i actually like it, yes its too hip hop for me, the whitest guy alive but still thats part of his thing if people cant stand hip hop then the clues in the title. also, what studio does anton work for, he represents one of the few developers that are gamers, there are others out there e.g rocksteady and the dead space team. but you see soo much talent fall under the corporate hammer which restricts creativity. as for this move and kinect business... i have to say its not for me.

Would I pick Kinect over Move it seems my hands and arms would fall off with no matter which one I would choose. The move light ball is annoying bright and very distractful and I would find it hard to use a controller in both hands at the same time and pressing the correct buttons while swinging my arms.I also see that light ball getting broken,I could see the light from the ball being reflected off the TV during the interview(very distracting)and how long do those things hold a charge?Kinect is complicated is correct and so was PS3 when it came on the seen so you can bet there will be good things to come that will use want it they have to offer.Moving arms to pick your song or artist out of a 1000 or more selections is scary but like dude said its all software that can be written to make things easier.Kinect do not work all the time and from reports this may be true but I would have to say that the same thing happens with the Move, even Wii has this problem.I would have liked to see a better camera in the Kinect and even a better version of the Kinect processor, I guess this would have jacked the price even higher.I like both,but don't like 3D(tried it years ago and now to pricey) hate the war between the two.I looking for good things from both can't afford both but its nice to know they are there and to be amazed.
