I have a GTX 260 graphics card. But I meet the specs everywhere else. And beat them with my processor and RAM which is always good.

I'm saving up for the GTX 480 with my summer job as it is so it won't be too long.

You might as well wait for Radeon HD 6870. it comes out on october or november.

Newtype5452d ago (Edited 5452d ago )

The Sapphire Toxic 5970 is what is worth blowing your money out for. 4GB of DDR5. if you use 3, you get 12GB or DDR5! NOW THAT's FUTURE PROOF.

Letros5452d ago (Edited 5452d ago )

Not quite, SLI/CrossfireX only uses 1 card's ram for games(and you better be running W7 64bit), however 4 gigs is still future proofed, but hardly worth it at $1000 for that card.

those req's are harsh...

good thing I don't need to upgrade :)

I got invited to the Beta, but I don't have a windows computer (I signed up for the ps3 beta, but they invited me to the PC group...weird).

LittleBigSackBoy5452d ago

Have you already given the code away?

KillaManiac5451d ago

Same here Max....I got invited to PC when I only Opted for PS3 b/c I assumbed my PC wouldn't run (which it don't).

Faelan5452d ago

I frankly wouldn't go for the GTX 480. Sure, it has the performance but there are too many drawbacks compared to other GPU solutions.

If on a budget, grab a GTX 460 1GB and OC the hell out of it. That'll make it a close match to the more expensive, noisy and power hungry GTX 470. I have a GTX 460 1GB OC'ed by 25% over the stock clock settings and it runs like a dream and only when I stress test it can I actually hear the fan and not overly loud at that. If that isn't enough power for you, then grab another one and SLI them, or if you're not a fan of SLI, then go with ATI. In that case though, I would wait for the new models coming out later in the year.

JonnyBigBoss5452d ago

WHOA. Are they kidding!? I have this game pre-ordered but don't even know if it'll run. :(

Catharsis5452d ago (Edited 5452d ago )

Seems like a joke to me.

SmokeCheebah5452d ago (Edited 5452d ago )

Just go here http://www.finalfantasyxiv.... download and run the benchmark to test if your system can handle it. After they run a few cut scenes they'll give you a score. you'll want to atleast get a 2500 or higher. I got an 875 so i failed miserably... *edit* make that 367... smh in shame

Eorzea5452d ago

It may still be playable w/ that score if you run it on all of the lowest settings.

SmokeCheebah5452d ago (Edited 5452d ago )

maybe, but the way it ran for me was like watching it with a flip book and a strobe light. choppy as hell

Eorzea5452d ago

Remember, these are the "recommended" requirements for optimal performance! The "minimum" requirements are much lower:

Letros5452d ago (Edited 5452d ago )

Requires a $90 GPU, recommends a $200 GPU, not that bad really, maybe for an MMO though.

KillaManiac5452d ago

This game is asking too much from the computer users.

The graphics card minimum is less than 3 years old.

This will definitely harm the PC sells being THIS high in requirements (minimum and recommended) unlike other MMOs such as WoW, Warhammer, AION, ect ect.

Thank god a PS3 version is coming out...just too bad its 6 months later.

I want this game day 1 so bad...if only my PC could run it.

ruiner44825452d ago

You can get a decent gpu for a $150 bucks. Possibly cheaper if you shop around or wait for a deal on newegg, which they have often.
