Ripten Review: Alien Swarm

Alien Swarm is a bit of an anomaly in the world of video games. It’s a source mod, based on an Unreal mod, released officially, for free! The developers are part of Valve’s workforce, and worked on Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2, but were only hired as a result of making this mod- and now it’s an official Valve game. Yes, it’s an odd one indeed.

This game is so addictive it hurts.

SeNiLe9115458d ago

It's a great game for FREE!!!!!!!

Chimerhazzard5457d ago (Edited 5457d ago )

It may be free but it beats the hell out of many retail games out there.

This game is amazing. Go play it people...now.

Spenok5457d ago

I wasnt able to DL it :( the servers have been to busy. ><

aselah5458d ago

I can't wait to play it. Add it to another long list of free2play games to play

Sandwich Bender5458d ago

Is there a long list of free games? I must have this list!

CrzyFooL5458d ago

I think she's holding the list hostage . . . in her pants!!

aselah5458d ago

no freebies in my pants, CrzyFool!!!
Black Legacy, Snail Games--Hereos of Gaia, Evony, there are tons at Nexon.com...great ones on Nexon.com---Dungeon Fighter, Vindictus, to name a few, LOTR Online is now free...

Does that help?

Drjft5458d ago

CrzyFooL5458d ago

Steam Deck Launch Delayed

According to Valve: “The launch of Steam Deck will be delayed by two months. We’re sorry about this—we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren’t reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates. Based on our updated build estimates, Steam Deck will start shipping to customers February 2022.”

Totally understandable given the current climate, but also a big blow for hype for sure. I would not be surprised if there was a further delay down the road, given how unpredictable assembly lines are at the moment.

0rbital711327d ago

suits me cos i cant afford mine till after xmas haha

Teflon021326d ago

Literally what I just said out loud lmao. Mine was Q1 it said already. But this just makes it perfect for me if the earliest is Feb, mine will probably be April or later which is outside all the releases I care about

VenomUK1326d ago

It's understandable as all manufacturers are supply constrained of components. It just means that 2022 is going to be SO stacked!

roadkillers1326d ago

Why do people always say "current climate"? What are the origins of this highly corporate statement?

ActualWhiteMan1326d ago

Current Climate is 45 degrees Fahrenheit where I am HBU? 🤣

Sgt_Slaughter1326d ago

Just felt like using it, works for the context of the situation

blacktiger1326d ago

ikr, people are brainwashed

blacktiger1326d ago

oh lord this guy believes in climate bs

AmUnRa1326d ago

And some people dont want to see the truth and are brainwashed and think there is nothing wrong with the climate and dont want to see al the signs that indicate that there is defenitly a change in the climate worldwide.

blacktiger1326d ago (Edited 1326d ago )

by listening to others is not truth, seeing for yourself is truth. But people are used to so called television and media oh yeah and government but not with their own eyes ever! That's a hard fact. Ice melt, and you all believe it. Volcanoe hit and you all believe it, this has happened even in the Bible so what climate change for 10, 000 years?

Fishy Fingers1327d ago

Year on and we still cant easily buy consoles or GPUs. No surpised.

Orchard1327d ago

That's a bummer, but only 2 months, and understandable given how unpredictable HW is right now.

phoenixwing1327d ago

Disappointing but not really surprised. I'll still be waiting and keep my pre order

Eonjay1327d ago

Feburary seems to be the month everything is releasing now.

Si-Fly1326d ago

Until the next round of delays 🤣
