Edge Review: Singularity

Edge reviews Singularity: Raven's talents may begin and end with making things die. In a genre principally concerned with this process, this is hardly faint praise. And in Singularity, a time-travelling FPS in which a US marine slays Soviets and mutants in two different eras, what delight is to be had largely derives from the act of blowing things apart with increasingly powerful weapons...

Singularity deserves higher than a 6! I'm having a lot of fun with this game.

A 6 from Edge means about an 8 from anywere else.

Perjoss3959d ago

so nintendo games are a 12 for edge then really.

Skizelli3959d ago

8/10 in my opinion. I played the PC version, though.

Well finished the game and i dont think it deserves anything more than a 6.

Skizelli3959d ago

It's currently scoring an 80 on Metacritic.

Ghoul3959d ago

why did you finish it then ??

FernandoMartinez3959d ago

Well i have the tendency to finish the game before i criticise it. It wasn't all that bad and i realy wanted to find out how the story ends...

There are three endings depending on what you do at the end, you either shoot "the good guy", "the bad guy" or both of them.

What saddened me the most was that this game had only 2 bosses, both of them actualy werent that bad but they were both in the first half of the game, so there realy isnt any final confrontation or anything like that, which leaves you unsatisfied at the end.

Also i think that the concept of the TMD had a lot of perspective but it's implementation was very poor. There are ten objects in the game you can use the TMD on and everything in this game has been seen before. (The "time bubble" function was completely the same as the stasis field in Dead Space, for gods sake, the "ventilators" were an EXACT copy).
