Counterintitive Casing

First there were bizarre design choices made with the official iPad case. Then Apple releases the bumper for the iPhone 4, which is overpriced, ultimately unattractive (given the beauty that is the iPhone 4), and seemingly created to fix a design flaw. Is case design a business that Apple has no business being in?
