GGTL - Medal Of Honor Beta Impressions (PS3) - "I already have Battlefield: Bad Company 2"

GGTL - "If we had to condense all the problems of the Medal of Honor Beta into a few words, it would be that we already have Battlefield: Bad Company 2. And while it's a good game, we don't feel like spending another £40 for what feels like an expansion pack that removed the best aspects."

But when Bungie sent the same Halo 3 multiplayer with Halo ODST nobody complained because the mp was "great". Im tired of those gaming pros hypocripts.

PEACE AND GAMING!!

ElementX5060d ago (Edited 5060d ago )

Correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't own a 360 when ODST came out, but wasn't ODST advertised as including the MP maps from Halo 3 and addon packs?

What's the point of your argument? Halo ODST mentioned previous map packs as being included. Medal of Honor, COD, Battlefield Bad Company all have the same feel, even though they're 3 different franchises. You run around war torn cities, shooting the enemies, ducking, blowing up stuff, facing wave after wave of EXACTLY the same humanoid opponents. Here and there you take out a helicopter or tank, but it's just soldier, after soldier, after soldier... Repetitive much?

Even multiplayer is the same. Run around, drive a tank. Pick up a machine gun, shoot other people across destroyed cities. They're basically the same. The weapons are always the same, you get an RPG, machine gun, pistols, sniper rifles, maybe a flamethrower.... all the classic, boring real life weapons, every war FPS has the same weapons.

Yardie5060d ago

You just described every game ever made.

Pacman: run around, pick up a cherry, kill the same ghostanoid ghosts.

BeaArthur5060d ago

I like the way the OP says "PEACE AND GAMING" after he starts sh!t.

CellularDivision5060d ago

Its called "double standards" I believe.

Xbox is supposed to be the noob platform.
PS3 is supposed to be the super hardcore gaming platform.
PC is isnt supposed to compete with PS3 because it is not a console.
And Wii doesn't count.

BeaArthur5060d ago

Nobody cares about your trolling fanboy opinion.

ElementX5060d ago (Edited 5060d ago )

Huh, I've never heard the 360 being called the noob platform. 3 years ago everybody said the 360 is the FPS console, now the PS3 has as many, if not more, FPS games. So what's your point? What constitutes a "noob platform"? If anything, it would be Wii since the Wii caters to non-gamers with the Wii sports, easy to use controllers, and other simple games. Nintendo themselves said they want to reach to people who don't play games like elderly and adult gamers who find complex controllers too difficult to use. Why doesn't the Wii count? Because it destroys your argument?

APOFISBORICUA5059d ago

an nobody care about you fkn opinion. If start the sh!t is telling the truth then I started it. But it seems that only fanboys like yourself care..

OMG Always the 360 fangirls!!

PEACE AND GAMING!!!!

BTW it means have a peacefull and plentifull gaming out of N4G no matter what console you own. If you need me to explain the school is a good way to start...dont drop out!!

Medal of Honor is mediocre. End of story. The MP is more cookie cutter and unoriginal than any online multiplayer to be released this fall. Anyone thinking this title will compete with Halo Reach, Call of Duty Black Op or even Crysis 2 is seriously dimwitted.

jdktech20105060d ago

It does seem like MW2 had 75% of the baby and BC2 had 25%....I'm not liking it but some people might. I already have both the parents so I'll pass on the kid.

As for the halo thing, give it a rest already. 3 was different than two, 2 introduced online multi and Reach definitely feels different than either with a ton of features added. Seriously, not directed at just you but the entire Halo hating brigade.....it's just sad.

Anyway, I'll stick with what I have....the hardest decision I have now is whether to get the new 360 to have both consoles black and under warranty (360 runs out in september and I cna get the new for 130.....agonizing choices)

MerkinMax5060d ago (Edited 5060d ago )

And I agree on the Halo bashing. People enjoy different flavor experiences, and just because one person doesn't like that game doesn't mean they have to persuade others not to as well. I enjoy Halo, as well as COD, BC, Killzone, CS, Resistance and many others. They each are distinct which is why I play them.

bjornbear5060d ago

but it doesn't work properly now.

solar5060d ago

i know it kills me. my mate was laughing at me in ventrilo because he died, was spec'ing me, and watched me stab an enemy twice in the back, blood spewing and his body twitching and not killing him. luckily the enemy turned around and my knife planted right into his face :)

cond3m3r5060d ago

Remembering Medal Of Honor: The Forgotten Master Of WW2 Games

Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."

banger8810d ago

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

FPS_D3TH8d ago

Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid

PrecursorOrb8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I wish they’d remake warfighter

Strictly for the campaign

The_Hooligan8d ago

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

Medal of Honor 2010 was a good start for a modern reboot. The campaign was fantastic. Multiplayer wasn't great but that's DICE's fault. I'd love if they went back to that game and gave it a proper sequel.

SlothLordPootus505d ago

I actually really liked the multiplayer in MoH 2010. Battlefield gunplay on small maps. I would love to see a Rising sun remake, the opening scene would be amazing to see.

SonyStyled505d ago

I enjoyed the multiplayer of MoH 2010. It felt like battlefield 3 in a way. The multiplayer in Warfighter was also pretty good but the campaigns single player story was not appealing with the whole family cutscene thing. Gameplay was fun though. MoH to me is the PS1/2 titles and I don’t expect to see a WW2 MoH after the last Call of Duty’s

Levii_92505d ago

PS1 MOH 1999 and 2000 (Underground) and Allied Assault PC is my childhood.. it's still soo good and it holds up. Not to mention Michael Giacchino's soundtrack is one of the best video game soundtracks ever made. Even if you weren't born in early to mid 90's go listen to the main theme of Allied Assault and you will be overloaded from nostalgia.

I miss this franchise a lot.

Iceball2000505d ago

I’ve always thought that MOH and Battlefield should be separate…

Have MOH as the full fledged single player with an amazing store and whatnot. And a basic multiplayer just to have multiplayer. Sorta like how the MOH reboot was.

And then have BF as the full fledged multiplayer with all effort put into that and ditch the single player. Maybe add Commander back in.

Only in a perfect world.

HeliosHex505d ago (Edited 505d ago )

Oh man medal of honor on pc was awesome back in the day. Multi-player was fun. Joined my first clan on medal of honor. Definitely deserves a comeback. But needs to be on the same level or surpass COD. Since it came out before that ip in 1999 to avoid embarrassment.

FGHFGHFGH505d ago

The guys who did Allied assault are the one who created call of duty. They're back at EA, Vince something

MadLad505d ago

I'll be the weird guy in the room and say I actually loved Warfighter. I thought the squad mechanics made it stand out a bit and thought the shooting felt good. Put a lot of time into the multiplayer.
