Going in, I was cautiously optimistic, having loved the concept and ideas of The Conduit but felt let down by the linear execution, bland narrative, and glitchy online play. What I was surprised to find when I arrived, however, was that no one agreed with me more than lead designer Bill Sullivan and design director David Pellas. Calling the first game “just an experience,” the two talked openly and frankly about the title’s shortcomings, and spent the meeting highlighting a ton of new features and gameplay improvements meant to ensure that Conduit 2 is seen as a fresh start. And while only time will tell if the final build has fleshed out these elements fully, I’m happy to report that early gameplay demonstrations and some hands on time of with the game’s multiplayer mode show a sequel that has learned from its past, and attempted to bring its A-game to the present. The only game I bought from EA this generation has been Jedi Survivor and it was a broken mess (might still be)
