Fatal Inertia for PS3: Unreal Engine "not running well enough" to release yet

The PS3 version of Fatal Intertia has been delayed due to "difficulties" with the Unreal Engine's performance on the Sony hardware. The game was originally designed specifically for the system, yet is deemed to be "not running well enough" according to a Koei representative. The Xbox 360 version is to be released ahead of it, as delaying it further while the PS3 version is fixed wasn't deemed necessary.

This thing makes no sense.

Fatal Inertia was shown in 2005, and NOW they claim its not working well enough?

Did KOEI find an envelope outside their HQ with a blank cheque from MS or something?

EDIT:
@ 1.1
And? You're telling me they couldn't do much in two years? C'mon now. That's just silly.
And yes, I'm aware that Lair, HS, and KZ2 were all also there, and that its been two years since then, too. But they're all coming out soon. Well, save KZ2.

Lair has been pushed back several times. It must be because the Ps3 is so easy to develop for.

The reason is the Unreal Engine is unusable, Epic has failed to deliver a good working engine and has failed to support the licensee's and that is the same reason Silicon Knights is suing Epic. FOr the PS3 though, Sony is stepping in and providing help to Epic to make a better Unreal Engine optimized for the PS3.

The same goes for the licensee's of the Unreal Engine for the X360. According to silicon knights, Epic was pouring all their knowledge into Gear of war while ignoring the licensees and failing deadlines; the dates they were supposed to ship good working/finalized engines.

well its been known ps3 hardware has had trouble running the unreal engine thats why epic is tweaking it for the ps3. So it will get better. I do't really have any interest in this game so i could care less. Wipeout HD will be tons better and there are far too many AAA titles to look forward too

I've been waiting for this game for a while now. Fortunately for me, I'll be getting it on 360. And personally I dont think wipeout has sh!t on this game.

is optimized for PC architecture. Very similar to 360s.

PS3 architecture is very different.

I don't think it's even possible to be more truthfull than that. Bubbles up as if you need them.

Dark Zero Review: Fatal Inertia EX

Dark Zero writes: "Fatal Inertia EX is the PlayStation 3 release of the year-old Xbox 360 game Fatal Inertia and is available now as a download from the PlayStation Store, for a fee of course.
Set in a futuristic world where mega-corporations control everything from government to entertainment, Fatal Inertia has become the most popular, and dangerous, pastime. The best drivers race in cars that hover over all types of ground, from molten lava to coastal inlets.

Sounds exciting doesn't it? Unfortunately, in the early stages of the game it isn't. I know that the earlier levels are supposed to be easy for beginners to grasp the controls, but in my eyes they were just uneventful, boring and didn't make me thrilled about playing on. Fortunately I did, otherwise this would be a very short review, and by the time you get halfway through the 'Professional League' it gets a bit trickier and somewhat more enjoyable. The tracks are short which means that the races are quick and if you get stuck in the crowd with the rest of the racers, it can get very chaotic, which is where the races get interesting. A side effect of the tracks being fairly short, sometimes the race is over before you know it and suddenly you're in second when you thought you could overtake the guy in front on the next corner to take home a win which gets a bit annoying.
The races are based on six different areas with all the course"
