I'm fairly certain that I read somewhere (in Game Informer?) that all LBP1 content will be transferable to LBP2.

Nothings official, of course, but that's what the word is on that matter right now.

That's a bit disappointing, though understandable given the large amount of content that would have to transfer, along with having to sort out any potential conflicts between new and old features, etc.

I read it to. And it said it will be upscaled through some magic if I remember correctly. I assumed it meant the graphics/physics will update to their new systems or something.

But yeah, I definitely heard it.

However, if it doesn't, I don't think it's that bad. Everything has to be left sooner or later, and when it's left because something bigger and better has come along, it's alright

Mc Fadge is right... According to the leaked Game Informer reports, the levels will be importable and will be upscaled for better graphics... So if it's true (most probably is), then all the million levels will be available right at launch of LBP2!!!

Okay then guys, thanks for reaffirming me. I had only a vague recollection of what I had read, so I was not entirely confident in my judgment.

Very very good to know that most classic levels will be available from the start. I'd love to see some of the more innovative LBP1 creators edit their older levels and work in new features. Definitely could breath new life to old favorites.

so many articles with screens and info on LBP2. This is getting a bit outta hand. I think I've seen like 10+ different articles all claiming to have new screens of the game.

On topic though, I can't wait to see what the community can cook up for this game. I published a frew fairly crappy levels in LBP, but I never really got the hang of it. Some people were mad good at it though, and I'm sure they'll be able to make even more amazing levels/games with this.

A platform to make games, seems cool. I'm probably going to TRY to make a starcraft recreation. I will most likely fail though, but it's worth a shot.

I want to play with those things now! the creator component was the greatest part of the previous game which I still playit every now and then, also I hope they include something to record and upload videos not all if us have recording cards.

Santa Monica helped them with the lighting as per the reports... No wonder it shows. GOW3 still has the best lighting till date... Just remember the time before you pull Helios head and he flashes you with the Sun and how the light dynamically changed with Kratoses hand... Still the most impressive lighting I have seen.

Those pics look awesome!!!! There are a few which show that 2.5D view and they look sick!!! Also, 2 of the pics show how the AI is tweakable which is also great (circuits).. Can't wait for the info today (It's Monday here!!!).

No doubt GOWIII is probably the best looking game out there, but KZ2 100% holds the spot of best lighting in a videogame to date. Deferred lighting isnt supposed to be possible on consoles, and in fact even the 360/PS3 versions of Crysis 2 wont have it either.

The lighting in God of War 3 isn't deferred, but some of the shadowing apparently is, according to a Eurogamer article I read. But I am not sure how that works. I'm not sure which one is better, but I do agree that the lighting in Killzone 2 is utterly amazing. Then again, the lighting in GOW3 is also truly amazing.

Maybe instead of spending your allowance on videogames you should save up for a few weeks and pay for the eye examination that you surely must need if you think that LBP2 looks even remotely like the first game. I mean in terms of graphical fidelity its a pretty big jump

foreverflame, you are being a big fanboy. Quit acting like the graphics are horrible. They are very high quality and have a very captivating quality about them.

As to you other two, I think you guys are also exaggerating. LBP2 does not look better than Halo Reach. And so far I don't see much of a leap over the first LBP either. I need to see more of it, but just the screenshots we have seen so far don't look all that different than the first game. That's the simple truth of the matter.

Well I don't even think that I mentioned Halo Reach, but if you want to go there and bring Halo into this so be it. Reach has fantastic effects, but terrible textures. It looks better than Halo 3, and maybe even games like Resistance 2, but saying it looks better than any game that released after 2009 is a "reach" in my opinion.

I think you'd be pretty surprised at the differences between LBP and LBP2 if you actually ran them side by side. Just from the low resolution screenshots alone, it's pretty obvious that they've cleaned up the ant-aliasing and the game hasn't even been officially unveiled yet.

Wait till you see it running in trailers comparing graphics based on screen shots especially when they are not even at the native resolution but scanned from a magazine is just silly.

Also who ever played bought LBP because they liked the graphics should not have the right to play LBP.

It is about creativity and mechanics not about graphics so you can all at list do me the favor and stop comparing it to the first based on graphics.

how hilarious it would be if some creator came up with a "MMO" for LBP. where you and 3 buddies get to explore a "world" together, killing enemies, collecting loot, and leveling up.

something along the lines of WKC, where you team up with a few friends and venture into a world.

you could probably build a community of creators who could be responsible for creating a particular "world/land" then string them together or create a HUB world to access the other areas.

since you can already reward players with objects in the current LBP, it'd be interesting to see if you can reward players with new "items" and equipment (more likely unique Sackbots with unique properties, stats that they could use).

anyway, that Space Invader's screenshot gives me hope for an RPG, given the top down perspective of the screenshot.

this game has so many possibilities, and i have no doubt that the creator community will come up with some amazing. they already defied all expectations with the FIRST title. with more tools at their disposal, the possibilities are so endless.

i wonder if Peter Molyneux is kicking himself in the rump that he let those guys leave Lionhead. lol. Fable with a mode that let you create your own stories/worlds would be absolutely AWESOME (you can still keep the single player Fable, but let players create and expand on it with user created content).
