I loved Fallout 3. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about this game!

chadwardenreturns5152d ago

Can we just see olivia munn please , nvm New vegas first impressions

ProjectVulcan5152d ago

Extremely excited. Bugs aside, Fallout 3 was/is one of the best games this generation. Of the few things i would ask of the developers, is that they invest twice as much time bug hunting as was exercised with fallout 3

TrailerParkSupervisr5152d ago

Ammo has weight in hardcore mode. Damn, that really sucks. I am such an ammo whore. I will traverse 3 levels to go pick up that clip from way back. And I reload like a crackhead sucking sausages. One shot, reload! Gets me in trouble all the time!

Hideo_Kojima5152d ago

i reload in every game even when my gun has 100 bullets left in the clip and takes 10 seconds to reload

we got to stop doing this lol

GodsHand5151d ago

That's why I invested in hand, to hand combat, and sneaking getting criticals damage shots, with a dart gun to cripple the legs. Paralyzing Palm anyone, is also fun, and sneaking up on robots to deactivate them usinf the robotics expert perk. I Also find it fun to plant a explosive in a pocket of a super mutant, or raider using the 'Shady Sands Shuffle'.

bart9995152d ago

I think that Fallout 3 still constitutes my largest time commitment during this console cycle. I've spent more time playing this than even CoD4 or Halo3. Fantastic game. New Vegas has me seriously interested.

Brewski0075152d ago

Same here. I may have played Modern warfare games a little more, but none come close to the devotion I gave fallout 3. I truly can't wait for this one.
Looking forward for more tid-bits at E3

ASSASSYN 36o5152d ago (Edited 5152d ago )

Agreed! Never have I spent more time in one game in my life. Hundreds of hours playing fallout 3 was fun and worth it. It definitely is the best game I ever bought.

PS3Freak5152d ago

Same here. I never though i would play a game more than i played Oblivion, then Fallout 3 and all of it's DLC came out.

spunnups5152d ago

Is anyone else not concerned that Bethesda themselves are not developing the new Fallout but only Publishing and probably overseeing it as well? What exactly is Bethesda working on themselves?

bigrob1235152d ago

hopefully a new elder scrolls

swiftshot935152d ago

I like the world of Elder Scrolls more than Fallout, but I like the combat of Fallout more. I also think the next big game from Bethesda needs to overhaul the conversation system to make it more like Mass Effect 2. That, and better tech for character models/animations/less bugs.

Aphe5152d ago

Hopefully they're working on the next ES game, I hope so anyway. Besides Obsidian are developing this so it should be in safe hands.

spunnups5152d ago

Since you said "Safe Hands" I had to look them up. Obsidian made Alpha Protocol and is working on KOTOR 2, NeverWinterNights 2, and now Fallout: New Vegas. Very interesting. Alpha Protocol may be a good indicator as to how Fallout:New Vegas will fair.

mrv3215152d ago

I'm more concerned that Bethesda has any part to do with it if I'm honest.

Fallout: Bethesda isn't what many consider to be a proper Fallout game.

It's made by the original guys, who have been working on this game or part of since Bethesda started work on F3. They want to get it right.

The_Zeitgeist5152d ago

Oh stop pretending that Bethesda is some terrible developer. They bought the Franchise and can do what they want with it. Besides that the series is way more successful than it ever was with Interplay. More people like it. That makes it a better game.

Motion5152d ago

Bethesda isn't a bad developer, but they do have a terrible quality control department. Their games are very fun, but also VERY buggy.

mrv3215152d ago

If all games had the same amount of bugs as Fallout 3 pre patch I wouldn't be a gamers.

Seriously, you can't for one minute believe that game met ANYONE quality control levels... it's terrible framrate, buggy VATS, freezing issues where COMMON. The game is great, but it's just too buggy. I completed it and loved every moment but the bugs took it from a 9/10 to 8/10 in my opinion.

Stationfan5152d ago

Game looks tempting I enjoyed F3, hope this game exceeds it the hard core modementioned does loon and sound like a challenge. Stimpacks when used only gradually heal you but it will take time. Hope ps3 version gets some love

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits44d ago (Edited 44d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7244d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii44d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast44d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM43d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife43d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit43d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife43d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Fallout Anthology Edition Looks Pretty S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

The Fallout Anthology Edition is coming to PC very soon, and is packaged with some very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses.

-Foxtrot65d ago

It’s an awful downgrade to the last one they did

They included physical disc back then
