"Given the amount of controversy surrounding certain aspects of Nier, it has surprisingly received very little attention in the media. This latest title from Cavia and Square Enix hasn’t seen much coverage lately and it had a fairly quiet release, and as a result, many people don’t seem to know a whole lot about it. That is fairly understandable because in addition to this being a somewhat obscure release, it is also a spiritual successor to another obscure game: Drakengard for the PS2. In fact, Nier is actually based on one possible ending of Drakengard. And it didn’t help when trailers were released that didn’t really explain a whole lot about the game or what kind of game it is supposed to be. I will do my best to help give you a better idea of what to expect here."
