GameFocus: Samurai Showdown SEN Review
As opposed to some of the other button-masher fighting games, Samurai Showdown won’t let you win easily unless you learn how to meticulously calculate your weapon-based attacks and counter your opponent perfectly. Being one of the first fighting games to use weapons in combat, you would expect that by now, they would know how to create a game with flawless mechanics. Instead, what’s being offered in Samurai Showdown SEN is a total letdown. Everything from the evasive maneuvers to the method of unleashing special attacks feels clunky, stiff, and unresponsive.
