OXCGN:
"Many veteran gamers would have fond memories of the late 80’s After Burner arcade machines with their tilting cockpit hydraulics and frenetic jet fighter physics.
The game was rejuvenated in 2006 with a new entry titled After Burner Climax; and it’s this version that has made its way onto the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade Marketplace."
After Burner Climax launched on home consoles and PC back in 2010, and we've seen very little of the series since.
These remakes and remasters are must-haves in this next generation.
Gunstar Heroes was made by Treasure. I'm not sure if that IP actually belongs to Sega. If it does, the ONLY modern day developer that I think would do that game justice is Housemarque. Maybe Sega could collaborate with Sony to let them make a modern day Gunstar Heroes. I definitely think Shinobi and Afterburner need modern day remakes though.
I feel like there are stronger Sega IP's than some of the ones that were listed such as...
Vector Man
Comix Zone
Virtual On
Ranger X
Jet Set Radio
Landstalker
Eternal Champions
As hard as it was, the Shinobi remake that came out on PS2 was decent. But yes, a new remake would be great. Always loved that series.
DSOGaming writes: "A few days ago, we informed you about Red Dead Redemption running in the best emulator for Playstation 3, RPCS3. And today, we are happy to report that Okami HD and After Burner Climax are fully playable from start to finish in the latest version of RPCS3."
I like plane games but am probably more into the flight sims...
I LOVED this game in the arcades MANY many moons ago, there were a few different cockpits that they had for it, but the best as this huge one that almost encased you, had forward, left and right and diagonal movement in the entire cockpit.
The sound was truly amazing. I think I spent way too much $$ in it over the years, and while many gamers gravitated to the likes of racing games, my backside stayed glued to this.
Excellent game for some basic arcade air flight fun.
It's great to see such a good variety of games come to XBLA and PSN. It's just that I generally don't hear much about them! Big retail releases seem to be what we hear the most about!
just realised that I havent thought about XBLA games for like a year.. maybe its time to get back into them
