Mike Nelson of 1UP writes "I want to know the thought process behind releasing a title like Dead to Rights: Retribution. I imagine the mission statement was to create a hyper-violent-bare-bones-generic-third-person-shooter-with-no-replay-value-and-a-dog. If that was the case, then Violation Games' new title succeeds in spades. And while the argument could be made that other third-person games have bigger budgets and a better development staff, my chief complaints don't have anything to do with the game's lack of polish".
