Edge Review: Patchwork Heroes
Edge: The basics are robust and this is a generous package, with a slew of campaign missions and special challenges to undertake. The occasional frustration is always outweighed by the game’s more general triumphs and, as in its formative influence, multiple fails at a single stage rarely dampen the desire for just one more go.
Despite this, it seems unlikely Patchwork Heroes will inspire a slew of developers attempting to make the Qix template their own. It leaves too little room for further developments, and any that were introduced would surely rob the core concept of its considerable elegance.
