Peter Molyneux Nominated for Time Top 100

Time has posted its 2010 Top 100 Poll with 200 nominees awaiting your vote. Amongst other leaders, visionaries, artists and icons -- including the likes of Barack Obama, John Stewart and J.J. Abrams -- are a few candidates known for their contributions to videogames.

I mean if Peter can make that list for showing a fake demo then I think ken kuturagi saying 4D is possible on ps3 puts him at number 1 because if time believes Peter deserves this honor then I am a believer myself that 4D is possible on ps3. It only does everything.

I think Time chose him because they liked the way he explains the innovation in his latest games... you know... "touch" blah blah.

If Time only really knew how many promises he makes, and how many promises were not kept or exaggerated in his final products they might choose someone else.

I use to be a devout follower of peter back when he made all those promises with Black and White, but I learned the hard way. One thing about Peter is, he knows how to dress up and make his games look much better than they really are. But I generally lost faith in his promises when in every sequel he tends to slander his own previous game and saying the next one does it right(I really liked Fable and Fable 2). So to a person that isn't really knowledgeable about gaming, he would appear one of the most impressive.

If Natal/Milo pays off however, then i guess yes he definitely deserves to be in there, but we can't say anything about Natal/Milo until we actually see it! It is a big IF.

I can think of so many others that promised and delivered. On a good note at least Molyneux is not arrogant and is quite humble, unlike someone who developed "daikatana" all those years back... ahem ahem... LOL

Sad how everyone only judges him on Fable and his promises rather than the games he has worked on themselves. I wonder how many people here have even played The movies, Black and White and Theme park. Heck the first Fable was great, I never read the internet hype so I played it for what it was. Fable 2 definitely wasn't amazing but it was still a good game.

Also everyone seems to forget he isn't the only one who makes the games. Lionhead makes the games, he's just a part of Lionhead. I like Peter though, he may bluff but hes a visionary. He actually looks forward in gaming rather than just doing the same old thing to make more money, eg. FPS games and Rhythm games. He actually TRIES to do different things, and even though he bluffs he is one hell of a speaker. He always gets me interested even if it isn't that great or doesen't pay off. He just knows how to intrigue people. Good on him for being nominated I say.

So what you're saying is that he is a simple PR speaker. You hit the nail on the dot!

He apparently is a designer and programmer too but obviously we only see his speaking. But like I said, he isn't the only one who works on the games so if he does do any design he isn't the only one to blame.

Of course he isn't the one to blame. He isn't single handedly coding these games. But he is the one who promised too much. It makes the development team look bad imo. Like they couldn't achieve what they wanted.
