Joystiq writes: Not many of us have the good fortune of taking a soak in a hot tub time machine and waking up in 1986, the year the fighter jet pilot officially became the raddest job on the planet. Fewer still know the whereabouts of a decent arcade that has an After Burner Climax cabinet, the 2006 revival of Sega's classic air combat franchise. Thankfully, in less than a month, all of us can experience the glory of stopping a nuclear inferno from within the cockpit.
Sega of America has dated the Xbox Live Arcade release of After Burner Climax for April 21, followed by an April 22 release on PSN. The publisher did not announce a price for the downloadable title, but the Japanese version was previously priced at the $10 equivalent.
After Burner Climax launched on home consoles and PC back in 2010, and we've seen very little of the series since.
These remakes and remasters are must-haves in this next generation.
Gunstar Heroes was made by Treasure. I'm not sure if that IP actually belongs to Sega. If it does, the ONLY modern day developer that I think would do that game justice is Housemarque. Maybe Sega could collaborate with Sony to let them make a modern day Gunstar Heroes. I definitely think Shinobi and Afterburner need modern day remakes though.
I feel like there are stronger Sega IP's than some of the ones that were listed such as...
Vector Man
Comix Zone
Virtual On
Ranger X
Jet Set Radio
Landstalker
Eternal Champions
As hard as it was, the Shinobi remake that came out on PS2 was decent. But yes, a new remake would be great. Always loved that series.

Played this at Chuck E Cheese about a month ago.
Jesus Christ the Lindeburgh Board is amazing.
These are the things to let you know Sega still has it.
I'm going to ge those digits.
This game is awesome at arcades. I'm looking forward to get this on my PS3, great action throughout.
