Bioshock is a game that needs no introduction. It can be said that it’s perhaps one of the most memorable games of this generation. Bioshock was far from perfect, although it provided a gaming world unlike anything seen before and captivated a fan following after its initial release in 2007. The game demonstrated atmosphere at its finest, not only did players get sucked in the world of Rapture; it also kept the player in a sense of wonder of how the world got in its chaotic state.

Before its release many debated if Bioshock needed a sequel. Some became skeptical if Bioshock 2 could live up to its bold predecessor. Even more doubts came when word of a new studio within 2K would be handling the sequel and not the original developer 2K Boston (now known as Irrational Games). Could a new studio capture the essence of the original while innovating enough to make it feel fresh? Or will this be a sequel that will be forgotten due to its superior predecessor?
